This is cheap double sided tape 🙁 only stuff they had it is useless so i might have to use glue instead atleast that way it wont half stick

Just powered the projector up using my scrap lcd and it all seems pretty much lined up and displays a nice clear box lol

Might have some real results today

Im building a Lilliput Base PJ, this will be my first time using this LCD...

Just how delicate is that ffc cable that attaches to the LCD itself? You folks have got me scared to take the thing apart! I wouldnt want to ruin a $220 LCD...

Maybe I should just say the heck with building it and go buy an Infocus X2

Bloody delicate... if you breathe on it it aint gunna break but bending it more than half a dozen times aint gunna do it no good...

Making a bracket up to hold it in the desired position after you have stripped the monitor is not a bad idea and will be strongly considering this with my next LCD...

Goodluck with i mate...remember slow and steady, it aint a race, you will be fine 🙂

I havent stripped mine yet but after looking at others who have stripped theirs, Ive been thinking that maybe getting a piece of Glass cut to the exact LCD size, and placing it in the metal frame where the backlight was would help support the cable?

Another thing I was thinking is that from the looks of it, that cable was designed to be laying across the backlight, correct? Since it cannot remain in that position in a projector, it will be necessary to position it at a right angle to the LCD. This will put tension on the joint where the cable connects. Im wondering if... over time, it will break off anyway since its not positioned the way it was designed.

bugger to hear bout your hassels with the lilliput there mate,
im nearly up to the same stage of stripping myne down and dosnt excite me at all to hear how much of a bitch these things can be!!!!!good work on the pj by the way ,hopefully you can get her going soon!! im eager to see screen shots thru this type of design too,if you decide to make up a frame to support the lcd and board please post a pic as to show what you done ,best of luck to you mate,
