Well I found this site a while ago after researching about the "cons" on eBay and decided not to go with a eBay one but to go with a small compact Lilliput design.

Seen some of the results on here and they are truley amazing and i am sure there even better in real life.

So for my setup i will have the following:

LCD: Lilliput 7" Widescreen VGA Monitor (Dont quite know the model number but its the same one that everyone else seems to use. Also I cant get a image to come on screen but I will come onto that later)

Bulb: Osram 400w HQI-TS (With ballast and other needed bits)

Lens: Fuji Copy Lens which has a 240mm focal length

Reflector: 64mm Diameter, 32.6mm focal length

Condenser: 80mm Diameter, 89mm Focal length

Mirror: Front surface mirror cut for the lilliput LCD

Frensels: Both cut for the Lilliput LCD need to get details on them (they were from Ace originally)

I havent built any of the casing etc yet as I need to get the LCD working first.
The problem with the LCD is that the FCC cable has got damaged so I have ordered anoyher one but dont know if the LCD/controler is damaged but for £3 it is worth a try.

Anyway. I wont be making the first case out of aluminum as I dont have any distances etc so I will be building it out of MDF and for the light box possibley using a old computer PSU case, could that be ok?

Thats it for now just thought that I should start my thread 🙂 :smash:

Well as no one replyed to my question about the fuse i just tried them up to 13a 😱

Any way i have started developing my projector 😀

I drilled the holes for the bulb holder and checked they were ok and there perfect 🙂

After almost killing my self with the jig saw as it was on max speed i managed to cut a hole for the reflector.

In this picture nothing is actually mounted down so it may look off.
I will mount it down when i have bent the metal

Should be another update tomorow after I get my 92mm fan guard to hold the condenser in place. (They didnt sell 80mm from the place i ordered from well they did it was just stupid money)

G'day nick

The Frensel Set you have Cut to Size, 106mm x 167mm will have the following fl Top Focal 310mm Bottom Focal 210mm.

Can't help you with the fuse, dont use one myself lol Your going to have to have some serious cooling too bud, 400watt is going to pump out a hell of alot of heat 250watt would have been heaps matey with those optics, I guess you got it all in a bundle though second hand from somebody?

Anyways mate, good luck with it shall be watching keenly for pics and updates on your progress

I had cooling problems with my 250watt using the same optics u have nick, i had a 100cfm blower fan on my lightbox tempered glass before lcd and an 80mm directly vented to the lcd and after 40 minutes the lcd was too hot. Have switched to two 120mm fans on the light box, reflecting light off mirror onto lcd this time and having the blower fan directly onto lcd, hopefully that will sort out the cooling problems lol...again good luck with yours mate 🙂

I will prob have to go for a cold mirror hmm o well for now i will go with what i have and i have finished the light box apart from putting the top panel on because basicly i couldnt be bothered to lol

just need the lcd now 🙁
