What do you think about 307 dht tetrode?
Low cost, lesss power than 300b and very linear?

6p21s Russian direct heated tetrode is really good. Very neutral and low distortion - lower than 4P1L and 26! See the 4P1L dHT line stage thread for details...

I want to have plenty of headroom for my trafo. Unfortunately 300V trafo only available in 200VA. I was thinking of 400VA since I will be using dual sshv2 regs at 45ma. They only come in 320V secondary. Is this too much or will it be OK?

That looks really fresh! Sorry Salad😀The Antek I am looking at that is 200 VA, has dual secondaries of 300V/.30A and 6.3/4A. If running dual 45ma regulators, isn't that awful tight.
Wow! That looks really fresh. Sorry about the slip up Salad.😀 I just noticed that the trafo I was looking at had 300ma rating not 30. My bad, although it seemed to work out in the greater scheme of things.
200VA for this is super royally mega plenty. You would not want big trafo magnetic field very near though.
I had planned on seperate PSU enclosure with CR->umbilical chord(1ft)->C, SSHV2. 200VA was only 5$ more than 100VA.
I was under the impression that when doing a standalone PSU, you do most of the filtering away from the main chassis, with only the last C inside before regs. Do you suggest just the trafo on a standalone box?
The trafo, the rectification, and that's it. If it was CLCLC or CRCRC it could go 50%-50%. Its better to fully filter what comes riding on the umbilical too if using simple one stage filtering you see.
I breadboarded one. Sounded great already on the plank with AC heating and and a dual C-L-C-R-C-L-C. Very little noice and some tiny trafo noice with the ear in the cone.
Gonna tune it up when I get parts for SSHV2.
