That has to be a round tube set?
rectangular picture tube... 21 CYP 22... had the 3A3 hv rectifier, 6BK4 regulator, also...lots of 6GH8's, etc.
Right now, this little amp is sounding great handling the range from 100 Hz on up. Hard to believe how good this sounds for so little money. Someday, when funds permit, a pair of Edcore output transformers will complete the mods.
Thanks for all the help guys.

I've been running the BOYUU A9 now with no arcing for over a week now, but it still insists on a loud hum for about 3-5 seconds starting when the heaters are glowing nicely. It does this no matter which rectifier tube I use. It doesn't seem to hurt anything, but it's irritating and shouldn't be doing it. Any ideas on how to stop this?

When you change out transformers, the HF stability might change as well. This is a major thing you are thinking of doing.

A good heavier transformer with the proper impedance for the output tubes could cause high frequency issues? This is a new one on me. I've changed output transformers on several PP amps with no issue as long as care was taken to use one designed for the power tubes used. Is there something different I need to know concerning SE amps?
