I will build this PA B500, my box is ready with dimensi 2U, elco Philips 17.000uf/65-100vdc x 2pcs and toroid CT47vac only 700VA..I think too small VA for stereo...How much VA toroid ideal for stereo B500??
Pozdrav..
Use what you have, and for next amplifier you use 1500VA for stereo. I use 1000VA for stereo. Crown use 800VA in XLS602 (2x980W on 2R)

My psu capacitors are on a slow boat from China so probably a couple weeks before I can try her out. Hope they are ok as I bought the cheapest 100v's I could find. Got a transfo and heatsink. Gives me time time to finish building a case etc. I'm using some steel 2x8 stud I got out of a dumpster. Going to be a big ugly case to fit in two transfos. Personally I like my stuff to look DIY as long as it sounds good. DIY isn't really that much cheaper but can spread the cost out and learn something so I like doing it. Also can fix if problems later and mod to taste. Thanks to Apex for sharing the design. Hope I can get it to work. Boards seem ok but only one way to find out. Still not sure about the relay for the soft start. No PCB; guessing I just mount a relay on the case by the mains. Never used relays before so good chance to learn something. Peace out.

apex,
this is from thread h900 post #411
b500 using tlo72 step driver
from apex,
From PSU goes HV and MV. HV goes together on step and to amp for supply VAS. OVD goes to output stage, which is disconeted from HV. MV goes only to step driver.
please check my interpretation if correct
please see attachment

That's correct, and dont forget +/-15V from zeners to suply TL072 in step driver, and +/-REF from output emiters,
