Hi Victor,
I've owned and heard quite a few 45 amps. If you're sourcing from Japan and want to use the best OPTs, have you considered the finemet core by Audiofeast\Teramoto?

IME, in terms of transparency and low level detail, it's much better than either the ISO\Tango 20 series or the Hashimoto H20.

Thank you for your suggestion.
Unfortunately, there is no simple solution when it comes to choosing which PT/choke/OPTs to use for this project.
There are many factors to consider in order to pick the right components, since it is not one or two pairs of OPT to consider, but several hundred PT/choke/OPTs.

Hi Victor -
I am a happy TU-8600S customer and I would be willing to preorder one of these 45 amps with Hashimoto transformers.

As I don't seem to be able to find success stories of 45 amps with EZ81 rectifiers, I share some suggestions for alternative rectifier tubes that have been successfully implemented in other highly praised 45 amps:
- 5Z3
- 5U4
- 80
and whom might that tube amp designer be?This is a new design from my favour tube Amp Designer
2x EZ81 rectifier
Just one comment - please use a power transformer that works with preamp tubes drawing 600mA heater current.
OK, and what is the max. total heater current on the 6.3V tap(s)?We will use a custom made PT fir 45 tube from Hashimoto
