Still some MDF work left, mainly for the Speakon panels for the back, but it's nice to see them with all drivers mounted drivers for the first time. I intended to apply a layer of epoxy sealer before the measurements, but now that I see them like this, I don't think I have the patience. 🙂

Gets me inspired to continue to do something with my KEF drivers.
Had my brother printing a shadow flare to the old R-series long before the newer R-series came out. Thought that it might look and maybe even sound better than the old trim ring, if implemented correctly (lager diameter vs original trim ring)
The KEF cone was carefully measured with an optical measurement equipment that we have at work. Pretty sure the cone shape is exactly the same for both the "1632" as the "1753"

A OD Ø 200 mm aluminum milled from a 12 mm thick plate. Wider and a little deeper vs the org shadow flare (Ø 172 mm)

Nice work @nusse ! That aluminium flare is a beauty. What kind of optical tool did you use for measuring the cone profile? I used a 3D scanner (Artec Eva), which had some trouble recording the highly reflective Al cone. I had to filter out quite a lot of scan data, but eventually I got quite good fit based on checking the shape with cross-sections printed on paper.
I don't really have plans beyond these q100 drivers, but I included a removable MDF ring below the flare so that there is freedom to test different flare shapes and coax drivers in the future.

@xorcz I just put the driver on the table and did a height-measurement every mm from the tweeter till the end of the surrounding (the red line in the picture). Then I hade the SW extend the curve 🙂

Yes it is part SVC + SP 1632 (i.e. with tweeter) but without the ring which seemed too expensive given I was likely to make my own. I measured SP1716 with modified contour gauge/duplicator, made a picture,
put it in Fusion
and got the profile.
Now I think how to extend it. I played blindly and without any simulation with Mabat R-OSSE formula to match the shape.
