I was browsing an old electronic parts shop in my city when I accidentally spotted some 2sk240s with a grade I had never seen before. I was curious, so I picked up a few. I checked the Toshiba datasheet, but I couldn't find this grade listed. Do they really exist?
Thanks

So that means I can't sell it, right? 😊They definitely do NOT exist, and I'll be glad to buy them off you cheaply as they're only a figment of your imagination. 😉

I ever found this part in vintage amplifier . But i forget the brand and model . I update later .
That would imply there are two 2SK170Y in these 2SK240Y packages?and K240 are just two K170 in a single package...
Measure the Idss, the The specs are "Y : 1.0 ~ 3.0" [mA].
Actually, I used my last set of these in my latest riaa project.
Not "Y"-grade but BL´s, but they do indeed exist, although more or less extinct in this day and age. Congrat´s on a great find 👍

Those 'BL's, along with 'MC transformer', gain settings of impressive 66 / 72 dB, and a nonal tube support... for such a gain I guess ECC83.
Curious about the involved circuit! It's from MC to Line level (150mV)
Typo 'the The' in #7...
@ bango: what is the Idss actually of those 2SK240Y's?

Thanks for the info! Even though this is actually an old threadI ever found this part in vintage amplifier . But i forget the brand and model .
Exactly, but with no markingsThat would imply there are two 2SK170Y in these 2SK240Y packages?

Not Y, just for reference

I've measured a few of them, and they do fall within that Idss range (mostly in range 2-2.5mA)@ bango: what is the Idss actually of those 2SK240Y's?

Yes, the BL grade (also GR & V) does exist and are listed in the Toshiba datasheet. However, the Y grade isn't mentioned there. Which is why I asked.
Thanks anyway!
