i have a brutus in for repair it has a blown power supply.i cant tell what fet's are used in the power supply.any help?
Did you try cleaning them off with acetone then wiping a bit of heatsink compound on them?
If that doesn't work, what is the exact model number?

ok i got the amp to power up but it pulls the speaker in hard.i took the output transistors out and none were shorted what else would cause this?
I'm assuming that it doesn't draw excessive current when no speaker/load is connected to the amp.
Reinstall the FETs if you're 100% sure they're OK. Measure the DC voltage from leg 1 (red probe) to leg 3 (black probe) for each of the outputs. Which ones have more than ±1v DC?

ok i put them all in now the protection light come on. ill just replace them all.anything else i should look for.
To determine where the fault is, you need to determine what section of the amp is going into protect. What output transistors are being used in this amp?
