2007 Maxon Motor Group Buy

Possible next GB:
Some members expressed their interest in getting the controller PCB but there was none left. There is the possibility that I start a new GB, but simpler this time with only the PCB, motor and pulley offer (only just one type of pulley as well) The previous GB was just too much work with all these options.

However, the problem with the original pulley was a big unknown. Greg worked very hard to provide us with a replacement pulley.
I'm just not sure he will be interested in providing a pulley for the new GB as well.

I will also need to have 30 orders to be able to produce the PCB with the minimum order and get a good price for the motor.

I may have about 15 members interested so far. It is sure that an available custom pulley would be a big plus for the group. We will see if there is enough interest. I'm sure that Greg superb service, and that the PCB design and quality pleased the previous GB is also an insurance for the new GB.

By the way, I'm also interested in a new GB because I was not able to get one of the original PCB the last time for myself 🙄 (just lost one in all the options changes and I had to gave it to someone else...)

Hello guys,

I know I miss a lot of stuff in the for sale section so I figured I would post here as well. My motor + kit + parts and pulleys (both) are up for sale here:

Wish I could relinquish the PCB to you Sylvain but I'm afraid it would render the rest of the kit useless 🙁

I have knocked the price down because I'm not 100% sure the pulleys are alright (The kit is still untouched).

Thanks again Sylvain for all your hard work, can't believe you are going to do it all over again!

I offered to Greg to ship the replacement pulleys for him. He work so hard to have the replacement pulley. However, since I was just the middle man in this, I would prefer that you pay for the shipping cost guys. I won't charge you anything for the handling, packaging, hours of my time packing and shipping, but I would like at least to don't have to pay the shipping from my own pocket.

The String pulley can be ship out cheaply into just a padded envelop, but the Tape pulley is to big (too thick) and doesn't fit into the envelop gage they use at the post office. Hence, I'll be force to ship them small parcel, which is usually a minimum of 5$ most of the time.

I'll probably start to send you email in the next few days, or just send me an email.

Copy of the email I'll send in the next few days:

Hi, as you probably know the original custom pulley(s) that you got from the Maxon 2007 Group Buy were defective because of manufacturing error. The problem is a slight excentricity of the center hole that cause vibration and speed instability. So, it was basicaly useless...
Greg Nuspel (the original designer and builder of the part) was very helpfull and built for free, on his own time, correct replacement pulley. These new pulleys had been tested fine and will be ready for distribution in a few days.

Let me know if you want to get replacement pulley(s). I still have all your original pulleys order on file and you'll get the same pulleys your originaly bought.

Sorry again for all the problems that we have caused you. It is DIY and we are doing this the best we can, with the resources and knowledge we have.
Your understanding and cooperation to solve this problem will be glady appreciated.

Please reply to this email.

Thanks...

Received the pulleys, Thanks Greg. I'll test both types on my own motor (should be done before Sunday), then I'll start sending them out.

As always guys, I trust you as you trust me. To speed things up, I'll pack the pulleys, then send them right away. It will be done as fast as I can, but can take around 2 weeks to process all these returns. Then I'll get back to you for the exact shipping charges. Please check your email.
Your understanding is well appreciated.

Default shipping will be the cheapest one. For oversea shipping, I'll try air mail if it fits into an envelop (string pulley), otherwise it will be surface to save on shipping costs, unless otherwise instructed. Some of you already asked for express shipping. Please send me an email if you want a faster delivery (and want to pay for it).

Greg was kind enough to provide me with some extra pulleys of both types. Some expressed their interest in getting some more pulleys. If interested send me an email. These suppl. new pulleys (not the defective replacement) won't be free however. The unsold ones will get into the next GB, if there is one.

Thanks...
