Hi finneybear. You're right. This is from my first version of the part list. It was originaly a cut and paste of Mark original description. The actual part is 3/8" as you said, description "Multi-Turn Trimmers/Potentiometers 3/8 SQ 50Kohms Multi Turn, Cermet", Spectrol Part No: M64W503KB40.

Here the latest Parts List version for the PCB ver 2.0

Final parts list will include more details, such as suppliers. I still have to choose suppliers on some parts. You'll see that I changed the Volt rating of some Wima caps, so the cap case match the PCB layout.

BIX Pulley Update

Simon of diyhifisupply informed me that I received a lot of new pulleys, but they were not happy with it: See below

We just check the pulley but we were disappointed because they made the center hole a little bigger so it shake. We can't sell them. We are waiting for another pulley which we expect to come very soon.

So we may have some delay on the BIX pulley. I may order the pods right away, to start the plate production. We will see.
Good thing they check it. I don't to send you parts with problem:xeye:

Exactly. And consider it uses tape for drive. Where can you find the spot to drill?

The Teres pulley is light. This is a good thing to have. Definitely you do not want the pulley to create moving mass on its own.

Thanks for sharing your cautions/concerns. My thought was to drill through the shaft hole already present, though with a smaller bit. I wouldn't (intend to) make the shaft hole larger, just use it to locate and continue a smaller hole along the same axis.
This is speculation. It bears reconsideration upon reciept of the goodies.

Here what an other Teres owner wrote about the Teres new mylar tape and pulley drive:

The Teres Pulley Upgrade consist of the FF:

1.) A Mylar tape to replace the Silk string.
2.) A wider replacement pulley to accomodate the Mylar tape.
3.) A piece of fine sanding paper to clean and polish the shaft once
the old pulley is replace, and
4.) Instructions on how to change from the existing pulley to the new one. The instruction provides information of what type of pulley (there are two pulley-generations; motor shipped after and before 29 June 2003) removal technique should be employed.


Following the instructions religiously (Mr. Chris Brady wrote the instructions in a way that it is very easy to comprehend) on how to extract the kind of pulley you have, it will take not more than 3 minutes to install the new one. After the new pulley is inserted to the shaft, the only thing left is to align the Mylar tape hugging the platter to the motor.

In my system, the result of this upgrade is a very positive one. Immediately, the platter's rotational stability is evident since the sensor (green LED) locks to the specific speed (33 1/3 rpm) faster than when I am using the Silk string. It can be attributed to less slipage from the Mylar tape on the platter because of bigger area of contact than the string during initial start. As a result, the platters stability maybe improved dramatically.

Listening to familiar records, I can detect that improvements are present because of the upgrade. The music of has more vibrancy on the highs, focus on the midrange, and definition on the bass. Attacks are more natural, and extensions seems to be more precise.

In my system, the pulley-mylar tape upgrade really works. At $28 for the total cost of this upgrade, any Teres turn-table owner (series 255 and below) should consider this upgrade a necessity and cannot be ignored. Or else, it is your loss!

CAVEAT- Be careful not to creased the Mylar tape. Doing so will produce a ticking sound once it passes the pulley. Once this happens, allowing the Mylar tape to stretch for a while (motor running for 45 minutes, the duration when the motor ceased to its power-off mode) will decrease the ticking sound considerably.

By the way I got the motor M2 mounting screws. They are in Stainless steel. Very nice 😉

Well, boys, to be nice with as many peoples as possible, I just exceeded the 30 PCB limits, so I take the chance to order 50.
So, I'll have PCB left over from this group buy for late buyers down the line. If I'm lucky, I may sell them all. Also I wanted to keep one for myself as souvenir, so...

PCB update.
Yes, it will be gold traces. Since I'm ordering 50 now, the gold option will be diluted in the price. So we are still close to 25$ each PCB.

As I said, Once I get the PCB order to my door, with taxes and shipping charges, I may re-adjust the price a little bit. But it will be close to this amount.

Also reguarding PayPal, well the 3% fee is slightly higher than that it seems, so I'm short of a few dollars here ands there. For example 408$, gives me only 403.55$.

So, I'll correct for this small difference in the final shipping and prices adjustment payments. Just a few dollars for you guys, but over 100$ for me 😱. I keep track of all this into Excel just to make sure I don't get broke 😎
