2007-ish Rockford P300-1 hot outputs

If the other driver cards aren't heating up lie this one, I'd think that there is a problem that needs to be found. If the other driver cards are the same model number (on the card), use the resistance of the various components around the component that's heating up too much to see if you can find the defect.

Some people won't stop buying parts from ebay and some won't read any threads other than their own.

You could try adjusting the bias to confirm that a badly misadjusted bias isn't the issue but after you do that, I'd set the bias fully CCW unless you have all of the transistors clamped to the heatsink.
 
OK, I will play with the bias a little to see if it makes a difference then proceed to the driver card.

The cards appear to be identical (numbers match but will compare component population and values) so I'll pull a card from both amps and perform comparison testing (there isn't enough room to probe with the cards installed.) Sure am glad I added ChipQuik to my last order.

Do you have any concerns about testing the card from the P300-1 in the P400-2? I'm not really considering it but if I can't find a fault it would be a useful point of reference.

Thank you, I do my best to not be a nuisance and have noticed the individuals who put in an honest effort receive the best help. There's a wealth of knowledge already available here, only a fool would overlook its value. Even if something doesn't pertain to my exact situation, there's always something to learn from the experiences of others. My habit of reading has allowed me to repair a couple amplifiers without having to ask any questions and in time I'd like to be able to perform all my repairs without asking for help.
 
Swapping the cards should be OK.

If you make right-angle probes, you can generally get to a lot more locations without removing the cards.
