I hadn't thought about power supply designs in a few months. After reading this thread again, I spent about 20 minutes looking and I think I found what I want:

I'm gonna set this up with a ss rectifier and I should be in business. Now I just need to pick out a PT.

The cheapest way to get transformers for valve/tube projects is from old valve/tube radios. I got two radios from ebay the other day for £5 each
