1 kHz passive notch filter

The best film capacitors (like PS and PP) have a sightly negative tempco, but a well selected ferrite core with a suitable airgap can exactly compensate for that. It represents quite an amount of work, because many parameters are involved, but it's worth the trouble and effort. Note that I didn't originally come up with this idea: it originated from a 60's 70's French author, H Schreiber IIRC

Thanks for the tip about polypropylene caps; next time I’ll consider picking up a ferrite core and playing with airgaps too.
That level of tempco compensation sounds like a deep rabbit hole. 🙂
