Don't worry John , Eric is just displaying his arrogance and skills at being a complete ar**hole . He seems to thrive on insults , not worth bothering with as he clearly (in his own mind) knows best , even having to slag off my professional credentials which (again!) he got wrong . Where is his miraculous invention I wonder ? Probably up his a*** with just about everything else . I just feel sorry for all those who either know him personally , are related to him or have to work with him . It's a cross that some unfortunates must have to bear .

Hi John,
No I am not suggesting that this is automatic.
Sure I know guys involved in audio who are opinionated (and deaf), and other guys whose ears are brilliant.
Also I have met amateurs who have brilliant ears, but some too have have some grave misconceptions and inadequate experience.
Eric.

Tell us a little more about your job then......
Eric / - Show us your mettle.
Well 316a, you have shown your mettle, and your tirade is wholly uncalled for, totally unacceptable, and unwelcome.
I am making official complaint that you be ejected from this forum immediately, and preferably permanently.
FYI - The invention that I speak of is seriously significant, and is currently in in the last stages before commercialisation and distribution, so therefore is not available just yet, but the pre-production examples have been met with universal acclaim.

Before asking that persons be ejected, you should perhaps reflect on your own words.

Eric,
I find it decidedly amusing that you should write something like this when you said something not at all dissimilar. You have proven to be an intolerant and obnoxious individual at times, chastising those who disagree with your views and referring to them as "idiots" "inexperienced" "disbelievers". I wasn't aware that this was a forum on religion, although from the way you talk sometimes, one would have to wonder.
Let's take a quick look at your past behavior in this thread alone:
I suggest that you pull you head out of your butt, smell the fresh air, see the light, and gain some more understanding of the real world.
Nice, that really added something useful. I notice that when 316a suggests something similar, you want him removed from the forum.
When I do reveal this thing, no doubt you will be knocked flat back on your ****, and when you get back up you will be walking in circles and scratching your head, but you will hear the difference despite your childish protests.
I've heard people give similar warning right before passing gas, which is what I assume you were making reference to here.
(the ignorant making protest at things they know or understand little or nothing about)
Apparently, this refers to everyone who disgrees with you about anything.
A reasonably good knowledge of electrics, electronics, physics, chemistry, physiology, biochemistry, and psychology helps too.
I didn't realise they taught all of those things in TV repairman school -- but good for you.
FYI - The invention that I speak of is seriously significant, and is currently in in the last stages before commercialisation and distribution, so therefore is not available just yet, but the pre-production examples have been met with universal acclaim.
By the description in the last sentence, you've given away what your invention is!
It has to be a large cork and sealant to go in your mouth.
I'm sure pre-production examples were met with universal acclaim.
We await your typical eloquent response.
mrfeedback said:Attacks of that nature are not tolerated on DIY, and they never will be.
Note that I have not made rude, sarcastic or attacking remarks or insults - only questions.
As has been the case previously, when experience and training is asked the response is usually hostile when there is no real industry experience - that confirms things really.
Eric.
"Bonehead" is regarded as an insult in my part of the world nevertheless.
It is also an intemperate reaction to what has been largely well-expressed, and, in my view, entirely justified, scepticism

There are members present here who say that the effects of C37 (and Tubolator ?) are audible.
'Bonehead' refers to those who so far have in fact baselessly decreed that these substances can have no effect.
Truths in audio can indeed seem stranger than fiction.

Gunk / Gunk
Ok , I will repeat my previous assumptions . I do not see how Tubeolator can 'dampen' odd order distortions AS CLAIMED . Is C37 really the super-expensive wonder ingredient that once applied to volume knobs can make your TVC the ULTIMATE audio accesory AS CLAIMED ? I can not think of any scentific way they could . I welcome your responses but please keep my job out of it ! I did not bring up the coated knobs but C37 obviously does something to speakers and so does the tube gunk to sand componenets but what , in what amounts , how can it be measured and is it really worth it ? Thanks

GUNK/GOO/DISBELIEF.
Hi,
Having spent most of my career convincing engineers that their measurents are fine for most stuff that is not audio related and that the best tools are sitting on the sides of their heads, I am surprised that so many people still stick to palpable things like measurements.
Does anyone "measure" music?
Do people measure their enjoyment of music?
To give you a bad example: the Linn LP 12 TT is one of the more coloured casserole TTs I've ever heard, when it came to music though it still played a tune and had that illusive quality we describe as "musical".
From my engineer viewpoint it never could have.
Go out and find yourself a Phase Linear amp or something, they measured fine and still sounded like a pile of turd.
RE: C37, instead of focusing on afterthoughts like knobs, why not try it on something that could really benefit from damping?
Speaker cones, MC cartridge bodies...anything that throws out alot of energy perhaps?
No, I haven't tried it yet myself but when it comes to vibration control I can point you naysayers to far more complicated matter than this little issue...you can start reading a few threads in the analogue section for all I care.
Oh, and I can assure you this part you can measure...so easily.
Cheers,😉
\I gave glasses to all the shortsighted people and it didn't help one bit.

Well, my measurements on wine don't tell me if I'm going to like it or not (unless they're bad, in which case it's safe to assume that the wine is swill). But sure as hell, if I think something is up, I set up *valid* sensory analysis. The nose and the mouth rule.
To make the analogy more frightening, take a look at USPTO application number 20030031881, where I describe some stuff you paint on the end of a cork which enhances the ageability of wine. Try some of that on your speakers.

Bobken said:Hi,
Reading all that has been posted in this thread so far, makes me realise just why it is that so little progress is being made in the pursuit of improving the performance of audio equipment.
Accordingly, before pontificating about this product, or ridiculing it (and other similar concoctions), I would prefer to try it out myself before consigning it to 'the land of fairy tales', which, regrettably, I see far too often with people who are generally just too indolent to carry out many appropriate listening tests for themselves.
Hi Bob,,
please forward me your address, I would like to supply you with a free sample of my tube-o-lator lacquer.

Re: Tube-o-lator sample
Hi Charles,
Thanks for your courtesy shown in making this kind offer, and I look forward with interest to receiving the promised sample.
To set the record straight, I was unaware that you would even see my original post, and it was not done by way of attempting to obtain anything for nothing from you, nor from anyone else.
I was just heartily sick of seeing so much nonsense being posted in *any* thread on the Forum, the intention of which I believed was about DIY audio, and advancing/improving the performance etc. of audio gear.
When it became apparent that this thread was (and still is!) frequented by so many wannabee 'comic ostriches', I simply gave up bothering to post any more as I have more worthwhile things to occupy myself with, like attempting to effect some further improvements to my system through experimentation, whether they can be 'proved' to the supposed satisfaction of others, or not.
I notice, in reference to my earlier comments over 'clear thinking' and keeping to what is relevant here in relation to the efficacy of your product, that these bigots still spend their time arguing about totally unrelated matters, being deliberately provocative, and then having a pop at the few members who have consistently tried to suggest that Tube-O-Lator *can* provide some worthwhile benefits. It is a great shame that it ended up with slanging matches, but the continual ridiculing of *any* product based purely on guesswork, is the most illogical and *unscientific* manner anyone could possibly adopt, and for those who know better, it does become extremely frustrating, especially when it is repeated ad nauseam under the guise of apparent authority.
You may rest assured that I will give Tube-O-Lator a careful and fair trial, and I will be pleased to post the results of my findings in due course.
I see from looking at your website, that you refer to the UK audio writer and Guru, John Linsley Hood, who has been an acquaintance of mine for over 30 years. You may be interested to know that John used to send me some of his prototype designs for a 'listening' evaluation prior to his finally publishing the design in question, because he valued my ears and had come to trust my audio testing methodologies and 'sonic' judgements.
Although JLH was a staunch 'objectivist' by nature, it was through a listening test of a prototype moving coil head amplifier of his which he was planning to market, that I first accidentally discovered that all nominally similar components *do not* sound the same (in spite of his and my own [then] beliefs, and the current conventional wisdom).
This discovery, about 30 years ago, was the start of my subsequent experiments related to the 'sound' of components and treatments etc., and whilst it was a most uncomfortable and inconvenient realisation in that it added a whole raft of additional complication to my quest for the best possible sound, it opened the way to some very worthwhile improvements to my audio equipment during the subsequent years.
Kind Regards,
