2.5 to 4 inch best price quality ratio

10cm and bass works only for desktop loudspeakers in close listening or corner placement.

If you take a 15cm driver close to a back wall I got a fullrange which measures like this

I think I am among the rare ones who did not like the TC9. I bought it because many people praised it...
Yes, it is still cheap enogh, sounds nice and smooth at first.
But after I while I noticed that some details in the music get lost, like in a fog, and the overall impression begins to fade. Some generic 3" JVC ones sound better.
I have not heard other small fullrangers, woul like te hear Faital 3Fe22 and/or CHN50P...
Just my :2c:

Best price/performance: CHR/CHP-50 certainlky would be serious candidates.

My top favorite best bang for your buck 3” full range driver is The CHN -50’s by far. Price and performance in sound and built quality. I have the 50p version but, Will make a speaker next spring 2025. The light blue cones were the first generation of Mark Audios paper cones like the Alpair 6p’s so had and sold to a friend. The black cones must be the second generation and the newer white cones must be the 3rd and newest generation of cones. I wonder what the difference is in this new cone? Enjoy The drivers. Jeff

TC9 is not cheap anymore, I think, that us, DIY crowd, kinda spoiled it. Luckily there are more than this one in the wild. The sad part is that as our common stuff is transitioning from petrol to electric - all copper, neodymium and other electric motor building stuff gets more expensive. Extra 5 EUR for simple driver is a lot, but 10 EUR for 10+ inch driver is not much.

Luckily there are many drivers which are comparable to TC9 in 20 EUR range. I even like Visaton FRS 8 more, which is cheaper right now.

Just my :2c:I didn’t like the TC9 as well.
I never tried the TC9 speakers but the Vifa TG9-FD10/04 drivers were nice but, not the cats meow as alot of diyer’s enjoyed them. The Mark Audios CHN -50’s are a better all around driver. Not good in this area or that area just a good all around best bang for your buck drivers. That’s why they are my favorite 3” inch full range driver.
