Heat wave

We are having a heat wave. Yesterday's temperature reached 103F. The hot weather is expected to last all week.

A lot of houses here (San Francisco Bay Area) were built without air conditioning because it is not needed for most of the year.

I note that the ambient temperature is above the ratings for computers (95F). My computers and electronics seem to be okay. The user is overheating. 😉 I am sitting in front of a large box fan.

How are you and your electronics doing?

Too hot for me 🙁 you have my sympathy. I hate it when it gets hot and for me that can be temperatures in the mid 20's (75F).

(Midsummer and currently 15C (59F) here which is a couple of degrees up on what it was a couple of days ago)

We spent over a week in the low to mid 90s (F), something we don't usually see until late July or early August. It looks like we won't be below 90 for another couple of days. We set a couple new daily records. One was 96f/35.6C. Trees are dropping leaves and the grass is dead. Something else that usually waits for August.

Our heat pumps are sized for 95degree days to set capacity, so above that they run continuously and can't keep up.

I’ve been outside pulling the power cables for the shop and house this week. Didn’t help that the fish tape just wouldn’t go past one of the 90’s the other day and I had to dig that end up. I had to change clothes four times yesterday, and probably need to do the same today by the time it’s done.

Without the winch I’d probably be in the hospital already. It’s STILL a lot of work. Gotta be the damn hottest week of the year when this has to be done - it just figures.

Similar climate to central coastal California here but inversed.Last summer was very long and very hot.We had 0.4mm of rain from October 12 to the end of May.Everything was scorched and lot of mature trees died.Areas with mild Mediterranean climates are not that mild any more .Provence was also ridiculously hot and dry last summer.
