I just learned that Scott Wurcer of ADI passed away last week.
Scott was the designer of many great audio products like the AD745 series and the AD797.
The spectecular discoveries by the LIGO detectors were to no small part due to his ingenious chip designs.
AD sold more than a billion dollars worth of his ICs!
Scott was also an active member at diyaudio until a few years ago, always willing to help, as long as you were willing to do your part of the thinking.
We lost a great audio guy and a fine person.

Very sad indeed. Such a contributor to diyAudio and it's many members.
He will be greatly missed.

Thanks for letting us know Jan! I didn't know him personally but learned a lot from his writings in various audio engineering journals, particularly on Composite Amplifiers.
RIP Mr. Wurcer.
Best,
Anand.

Damn, that's sad news. I met Scott a couple of times over coffee, and of course we conversed a lot here and by email. A very, very smart man and a pleasure to talk with.
A few years ago Scott generously sent me a lot of his discarded microphone projects and a TASCAM recorder. I still have them and use them, and will keep then as memories of a departed friend.
RIP Scott Wurcer - you contributed so much!

Oh, this is sad!
I always read his posts with great interest and high respect, but did not understand much of it.
Condolences to his afamily. Rest in peace, mr Wurcer!

RIP. I had no interactions with him, but learned a great deal from him. I spent a fair amount of time searching through his posts for wisdom, finding some very good debates with John Curl and others in the process.
Wow, quite a shock, a big presence on this forum for many years. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
Scott left a great legacy of knowledge for all of us in his posts.
We can praise ourselves lucky for that.
Thanks Scott.

Oh no - that’s really sad.
A giant IMV who could add real knowledge and input to almost any discussion we had here on the forum.
He will be sorely missed. RIP.

He was a schoolmate of mine - he was a junior when I first entered as a freshman, and a true character. "The Bursar" will live on in my memories.
RIP Scott!
Man, I learned so much from reading his app notes and posts here. He is missed, no doubt.
