Hi all
As DIY forum has been resourceful to many enthusiastics around the world i would like to take experiences to a single thread. So in the future if anybody visit the forum could get a idea about different designs. I'm also one of them, a novice.
Please share your class AB experiences of DIY forum introduced builds. There adding measurement results SQ etc. if you have would be a good help for the research.
If you have done any personal modifications please tell that also.

the best amp is the one you have.
or better: you have built yourself.
So, it' entirelly up to you.
You will have to get active, search the forum, build something.
Don't wait for people telling their stories.

There are loads of great designs available but best amp is usually the one you just finished building.
Haven't built it, but have heard it. Good amplifier.

There are many great amplifier circuits on this forum. Some of them work not only in LTSpice but were actually built and measured 🙂
Unfortunately, there is no catalog or guide with links, and therefore many good schemes are difficult to find and fall into oblivion.

Except the single ended power amp approaches all output buffers in power amps (mostly in power follower configuration) of exist analog solid state amps for audio application actually runs in Class AB. In colloquial English, however, all power amplifiers with push-pull outputs are always advertised as Class-A if the quiescent current in the output stage is around 350-400mA or above (like e. g. Thus for me there are three different Class AB variants regarding the push pull true- or quasi-complementary output stages:
1) with 20-50mA quiescent current and BjT power devices (typical Class AB)
2) with 100-150mA quiescent current and power MOSFET's
3) with more than 350-400mA quiescent current (quasi-Class-A).
I assume that the variants of 1) and 2) are meant here. Here are my favorites regarded this:

But there are other interesting approaches to provide higher efficiency as possible in Class-A (but more difficult to reach excellent results).
I know this:
Current Dumping (like Quad 405, consist of a Class-A single ended small power output stage + Class B large power stage)

Yamaha's HCA (even here exist two output stages for the whole power amplifier: hard running output stage with very small supply voltage and a usual Class AB stage)

But my absolutely favorite are power amplifiers with a Circlotron (PPP) output buffer stage (two power supplies for each Channel necessary) and of course the single ended versions like Pass First Watt and Aleph series.
I would add circuits that use Schottky diodes for a non-switchable output stage. This reduces distortion and provides some benefits. But there are other interesting approaches to provide higher efficiency as possible in Class-A (but more difficult to reach excellent results).

"Best" is subject to interpretation. It begs the question "best in what way?"
Naturally, mine is best (for me). 😉

That’s great info and thanks a lot for that. I was also looking for this info rather than finding the best. only later I realized title is mistaken.Except the single ended power amp approaches all output buffers in power amps (mostly in power follower configuration) of exist analog solid state amps for audio application actually runs in Class AB. if possible please show your builds if not much hassle.
