Car Audio install Question

First Question

I’m working on another install project and wondering if this will work for me ?

I have a 8K amp that will be running off 16volts which will be completely isolated from the factory charging system . I have a 390 amp alternator and a cmax 90 ah battery . I’m completely isolating the charging system for the audio system from the factory charging system . I was told this is what I need In order to do it correctly. Wondering if the 200 amp is enough or do I need to get the 500 amp ?

2nd question is I have a 4 gauge wire for 1 of my amps which is 4x100 watts I also have another 4x75 watt amp which has 2 18 gauge wires for power and ground and also need an additional 18 gauge wire to power the trunk mounted eq . What’s the best way to wire all 3 components 2 amps and eq off a single run of 4 gauge wire

Wondering if this will work for what I need ?

I have a high output alternator and it’s only for the battery controlling the audio system . It’s a stand alone alt and battery . I need to isolate the battery and alt from the 12 volt system . The alternator is externally regulated and I need to take the voltage from the charging post of the alt and connect it to the regulator. The manufacturer said it cannot touch the 12 volt system this is why I ask

Next question I have is the power wire .

I have a 390 amp alternator and 145ah worth of cmax batteries . Both the battery and the alternator manufactures said this would be all I need . To run both of my sub amps and a couple kids and highs amps and said I should have no problem with voltage drop .

So that being said wondering what size power wire should I run from the alternator back to the cmax battery’s? And do I need to also run a ground wire all the way back ? I plan on grounding the cmax battery in the back to the frame of the truck .

So wondering what size power wire would you use ? 0 gauge wire enough or should I go larger like 2/0 ?

Also I will be running about 100 watts a channel to each mid which I have several and 75 watts per tweeter .the length of wire I need is about 20ft per run is 16 gauge sufficient or should I go larger ?

If this wire is connected to the batteries, the voltage at the batteries should be a constant 15.5v until the output of the alternator is exceeded.

If you move the voltage sense wire, the voltage at the batteries will be determined (until the output of the alternator is exceeded) by how much the alternator can produce above 15.5v and the resistance in the wire.

If you don't move the VS wire, you'll need to use 3/0 wire to limit the voltage drop to 0.5v along the 20 foot length at 400 amps.

I would run 2 1/0 power wires back to the battery bank and grounding through the frame is fine.

I run a 370 with 2 runs of 1/0 to my rear battery bank(90Ah Cmax), 2 1/0 from alternator chassis to frame and 2 1/0 from body to frame plus keep all stock straps intact. In the rear i have 2 ground distribution blocks from illcustomz through bolted on each end to the body, under the block I ground the paint and underneath the body i have a 1/0 run on each bolt to the frame. I'm sure it's over kill but not nearly as much as these yahoos running 4 runs of 4/0 on a 400A alt.

Not sure what amps you are running but 145Ah of Cmax is good for some serious power. I don't remember off the top of my head but 145Ah should support 60k rms plus just fine. So unless you got 2 30k taramps which even still you're doing fine. Look up mr15hz on youtube i believe he's running 135Ah on 2 30ks on i believe 1 alt with no issue.

16 gauge is more than enough for mids and highs. I would knock it back to 18ga and run speed wire (9 wire) just to make it easier.

I got 4/0 wire to run from the front to the back .

Next question I have is . The amps take 3 power and 3 ground wires per amp . They say the terminals will accept 0 gauge wire . And the max draw of the amp is 800 amps .

Should I use 0 gauge wire for the amp terminals to the cmax? Or would 0/2 gauge wire work better ? Since I took a piece of 2/0 stripped the end and it fit into the terminals on the amp .

And the wire I have is 0/2 gauge OFC made by knukonceptz
