Hello
I have a problem with the ACCUPHASE P-266 power amplifier. The 2SJ118 / 2SK413 mosfet transistors were burned. I know that these transistors ceased to be produced a long time ago. I have a question, does any of my colleagues have such transistors in their inventory somewhere? I need a set for one tip, i.e. 3 pairs. Maybe you know where I could buy them? Thank you very much for all help and best regards
Gregory

Hi Gregory,
What I would do is substitute something current you can buy through proper distribution. I haven't looked for a sub for you, but that would be my first option. Buying from the manufacturer is a good option. Buying from Ebay is your absolute last option.
In a last ditch effort, you might have to buy a parts unit. I just did that for a transformer in a Sansui AU-717. The lengths you have to go to will depend on how much your customer is willing to spend, but remember your search time is also billable.
Hope that helps you a little, Chris
Edit:
Here is a data sheet for you: 2SJ118 datasheet It looks fairly common, so replacement with something current shouldn't be such a problem.

The 2SK413 differs from standard spec. mosfets in speed =50/110ns , I wouldn't buy from Ebay either , 2SK1057/8 are very near but I think obsolete also .
Its easy to "head East " but not for me and yes 2SK1057 are available there .

Hi Duncan,
Yes, but the switching speed isn't important here. I don't have the time to figure out a proper sub, but it is possible. The specs are not too demanding really.

Hi Gregory.
I have 2 pcb from a very old project i never have finished they are mounted with 2sj118/2sk413 and are 100% original parts if you are interested you can have them all for 40 euro + shipping to polen, i live in denmark.
Best regards lau

Chris, Dunkan. Thank you very much for your interest in my problem. Your help is very important to me.
Lau, I'm interested in your offer. If the transistors are original, I will gladly buy them from you. How can I contact you?
My email address is grzechoc@poczta.fm

Grzocho - if Uglykid is offering what look like original era PCB,s with that amount of original mosfets at that price I wouldn't even hesitate in case somebody else here has a 5 second think and realizes how much of a bargain that is .

Except Exicon are phasing out the TO3 package lateral MOSFETs, so some systems aren't going to have drop-in replacements any more.
No. I sell a Maplin copy lateral mosfet amplifier pcb on ebay and exicon parts are an option as well as original laterals.
Havent heard of any problems.

2SJ118 / 2SK413 are NOT lateral MOSFETs!
They are more like verticals, but not quite...
The pinout is different; pay special attention to drain and source and which one is connected to the metal flange.
The specs are different; for example, pay special attention to the zero tempco point for ID vs VGS.
DON'T buy laterals like 2SJ162/2SK1058 (or other similar parts) expecting to drop them into your amplifier successfully without making mandatory changes.
Save some $$ and grief - please consult the Hitachi Power MOSFET Databook first before you do anything!
