The deck powers on and radio works
Tape player doesn’t work at all I bet no response from the unit .
It won’t play tapes won’t fast forward wound rewind won’t eject .
Could this be from bad solder connections or bad caps or does this sound like a different issue ?
Any thoughts ?

I replaced the belt since I saw it was stretched out .
I will have to see what switch is triggered when I drop a tape in .
With the new belt of no tape is inserted the gears will spin if I drop a tape in the unit the tape with not spin and just keeps ejecting .
Wondering do I need a even shorter belt or what would cause the tape to not spin and just keep ejecting the tape

Make sure that the pinch roller is tight against the capstan.
If the capstan and pinch roller are tight, they should be pulling the tape through and the take up reels taking up the slack.
Make sure that only one pinch roller is touching its capstan at a time.

Looking at it some more the rollers don’t spin
So when I put a tape in the rollers don’t spin so the tape just sits there
So when I put a tape in the rollers don’t spin so the tape just sits there
Do you mean that they slow down when a tape is inserted?
The capstans are pressed into the pulleys so they can't stop unless the pulley is loose enough to pull off of the capstan.

I’m gonna explain this the best I can .
In the pic the black capstan is on a shaft and pulley
If no tape is inserted they will spin along with the gears when I spiny the pulleys by hand or with the motor
If I insert a tape the pulleys will still turn but the black capstan stops spinning all together

The pinch roller is the black rubber wheel. The capstan is the shaft in front of it.
The white nylon disk with a gear around its perimeter, is the take up reel. The take-up reel has a felt clutch on it that allows it to slip as the reel of tape changes diameter.
The pinch roller and capstan should forcefully pull the tape through. Is the black pinch roller turning.

No the pinch roller is not turning
It will turn by hand with no tape Inserted .
But when a tape is inserted nothing turns at all besides the pulleys
