Hey guys, I am in the process of building the Bromo kit from SB and I cannot find the port dimensions anywhere!
There are none mentioned in the kit info except that the cutout should be 73mm.
Madisounds site for the Bromr kit says 2in. dia. and either 6 or 7 inches long....
Can anyone help me to find the right info?
I dont want to cut holes without knowing for sure what the proper size is.....
Thanks!!!

I used 50mm diameter pipe, lenght was around 20cm. You have to tune it to desired frequency with nearfield measurement of woofer. Find minimum motion, thats your port tuning frequency.Hey guys, I am in the process of building the Bromo kit from SB and I cannot find the port dimensions anywhere!

Thanks darkone.
The problem is I dont have measurement capabilities at the moment....
I would be happy with a tuning around 40 herz....

If it helps, I measured mine, it is 50mm PVC waste pipe 220mm long with one flared end. It has tuning frequency 38Hz
The port is exactly the same as used for the discontinued EKA kit Eka – Sbacoustics - see Cabinet Drawing under Downloads. It is a 50 mm (inside diameter) tube. The tube itself is 160 mm long plus flares at both ends.

How does the BROMO sound? Any comparision with other DIY builds or commercial speakers?

Bromo sounds quite good, but a bit "soft on midrange", vertical off-axis also is not optimal there. It lead to new build with same drivers and new crossover:@mctavish @DarkOne

SB Acoustics EKA Ceramic Kit by StereoArt
Attached image: Red on the graph is original Bromo, green is EKA Ceramic by StereoArt. Unfortunately while measure mic calibration was not loaded (take off @10K about 1-2dB).
You may compare EKA Ceramic by StereoArt to Marten Oscar Duo - about same SB Ceramic drivers, but DIY sound better and measures better then 7000$ Marten
