Hi Folks,
I engaged an an AI online to see if I could get it ti design a Phone preamp. It then walked me through this layout on KiCad. Can somebody tell me if this looks like it would work? I'm pretty amaized. This is the left channel.

Not even close. Not even wrong.
No gain, no output, and the input is grounded.
I'm not amazed.

The problem is that AI has no experience, and it is just a simulator. Then there is layout on the PCB. So what it spits out is complete guess work without experience or intelligence.
Is it good? I wouldn't design one that way, but you never know until you actually build it.
You didn't mention what your expectations are for performance, or what the expected performance is from that circuit. If you punch it into a simulator, you will get extremely optimistic results. Was low cost, minimal parts of the criterion?

Even if the circuit had gain, the 10 uF to ground eliminates it.
Pretty funny. Emitter followers and a shorted (AC) output.
Edit: Corrected spelling

On the positive side, it should be pretty quiet.
Certainly it will be devoid of any signal to disturb the silence.
And there's no need for a second channel, since both would have the same output. Zero.
I think it is safe to say that this circuit is unprecedented, and unlike any prior efforts by mere humans,
who could never have achieved such levels of performance. A doff of the hat to our new AI overlords.

Is that a trace connection dot? I didn't think it was. But then again, human intelligence is showing. Makes no sense to do that.
Woops the input is my fault ... KICAD keeps putting a joint when I cross the wire from C8 to ground
Not that it mattered.
See my point on using AI?
The problem with AI is that it takes everything in as information without any regard for what is correct, wrong or reasonable. This applies to all AI right now. You have to give it limits and limit where it gets information from in order for it to even begin to guide you. It doesn't think.

Everybody here should be careful with their replies if they do not know how the specific question to AI looked like. Essentially you get what you asked for.
Allen : Not sure what you mean.

Output is effectively grounded, with that 10 Mikey-mike C15 in there.Hi Folks,

Its interesting that every thread which starts with AI optimized design comes up with utter nonsense.
Oh, I'm sure it can. Just beware of the Gell-Mann amnesia effect. You see? Mere humans are unable to comprehend the magnificent sophistication of the AI circuitry.
I for one am retiring from EE and will instead grow potatoes in the back yard.
I hope that AI can tell me how to do that with the same expertise as it designs phono preamps.
Actual AI has not yet been achieved. Computers have merely became fast enough to make neural network pattern matching practical. The media and teck companies merely redefined the meaning of AI to fit with what they have.Allen : Not sure what you mean.
