Ditch my CDs?

I ripped my small collection of about 300 CDs, uncompressed to a media server with SSDs. Takes only about 200 GB of space. Keeping the discs so far.
Playback via VLC player on an Apple TV into a DAC / system.
They're so much easier to access, I find I'm listening much more than before, and re-discovering why I bought them in the first place.
Starting to collect again too. Can't imagine going back to playing physical discs.

Late to the party, but ripping CDs that you normally listen to over the streamer seems useless. Maybe special editions, but nowadays it is hard to find a special edition that is not available for streaming. 25 million titles on tap versus a bunch of CDs? The case seems open and shut.

There are myriad reasons to rip even if you stream. Every device and format I listen to in significantly different ways. Playlist, new artist, single songs, whole albums, greatest hits, genre specific ect etc. I also like to pay the artist, directly if I can. I reached out to a newly discovered musician recently on Bandcamp; I inquired about an entire catalog purchase for a discount, he and I were stoked with the deal, (he with more money than he has ever made in a week on Bandcamp and me with a new music rabbit hole for 50% off!) and it has turned in to a pretty good friendship with great conversations about what were listening to and recommendation for new artist to check out. There is no wrong way to listen to music, making sense is hardly the point.

I have around 1000 CDs collected over many years but find myself increasingly using streaming (Spotify and Apple) along with my vinyls. I am moving house, and SWMBO has intimated that they all need to go. What do you think? Keep 'em or ditch 'em?
Recap: Keep them, stored in as less volume possible.

My experience, in the late 80’s I sold all my 500 records because there where CD’s. In the 00’s in started ripping CD’s en sold my CD’s en starting buying records again. Now using on and offline streaming. But keep the records and have recrets of selling the CD’s also because I have such a nice CD player.

In 2023, I re-converted my collection to 24-bit / 96 kHz FLAC. I still had MP3s holding back from the previous conversion effort.

All of them are now back in storage. Why do I keep them? Not sure. I don’t anticipate I’ll ever need more than 24-bit / 96 kHz FLAC.

That being said, I would not have been able to move away from MP3 had I not kept them.
