Because Schroeder Tonearm IS made of wood (and aluminum, bronze...). We may ask Great Mr. Schroeder that question, but that might be already explained somewhere earlier in this thread B)
Magnet in the tone arm... My magnet keeps getting pulled out by the lower magnet. They are both neodymium, same size. The mounting "washer" attached to the main string is a "mystery' steel(a tool handle used to make the part) faced flat with a lathe, recessed whole for the string knot. The mounting whole is not a pressure fit but more of very strict clearance fit(I cannot remember the designation of the rod and whole fit tolerances). I would appreciate any suggestions on keeping the upper magnet in the tone arm. The upper magnet gets pulled down at around .180 inches from the bottom magnet.
Glue ?. I would appreciate any suggestions on keeping the upper magnet in the tone arm.

Don’t know how you constructed your armwand, but the correct solution would be to press fit the magnet.
