Very good point, actually.
I just booked my stay at Best Western as well. I recall it being something like a 10-minute walk from the community centre.

Yep, just a short walk.
Who knows, perhaps prices will even go up as supply dwindles. It's a free market.

Like I said, I'm just happy to have you checking out the possibilities. I'll be there for sure. Thanks!@Skip Pack Yes, there’s a possibility, but the biggest consideration will be that we don’t have all the rooms both days. In fact, there is only one “display room” for both days, the other are the build camp sites.
Will be happy to discuss, but need to make a good guess as to how much room we’ll actually have available both days, and if/what considerations the venue has for overnight responsibility. (Which I’d guess would be none…)
Word on the hotel: Go ahead and start making reservations (some of you already have). The block rate discounts are unlikely to be very much and there may be conditions where we'd have to make up the shortfall on empty rooms. The Best Western is not that expensive anyway and there are other options nearby. Onward!
I recall there being an excellent Thai place as well ... for those of us who need a little more substance. 🙂

@ZenMod
You likely did see many Snoopys during your stay. Charles Schulz lived the last 42 years of his life in Sonoma County. There's the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, and statues of various characters all over the place.

This looks amazing! I loved reading Peanuts when I was a kiddo 🙂 Should definitely pay a visit while I am there@ZenMod

@Gianluca - it's only about 20 miles up the freeway, so if you have extra time before or after BAF, you should check it out. Of course, then you might want to explore a few of the wonderful Sonoma County wineries if you can take the time.
Our neighbor does the paint touchup/restoration on many of the Peanuts character sculptures around the County, and we live about 10 minutes from the museum.
@petaluman - are you still in Petaluma? Would you like to collaborate with me to put together a list of places to go/things to see for those who have some extra time before or after BAF? I came up with a list last year, and then others added to it, but we might be able to get a big jump start on it together?
