Passive radiators, too (two). Could be a bargain, or could have a resonant cabinet and poor xover 🤔
I am a bit sceptical about the rubber/Santoprene(?) edge/surround , is it soft and thin like it is in typical hifi-woofers - or is it quite stiff like you need in woofers for automobile/trucks/car usage?

High input power will result in voice coil heating around Fb/reflex tuning freq. and reduced output SPL , not good for LF dynamix!?
With only 83dB (at best) you need to crank up the amp quite a bit!
And you need to tie the speaker somehow to the ground to prohibit it from walking around! (falling on the floor)
If you consider mounting the driver with the magnet sticking out for better cooling of the VC , please be aware of shuffling noises because of only marginal venting behind the dust cap!
Speaker design can be tricky , lots of traps in the dark 🙂

I like the idea but we won't know until someone hears them. I wonder if the xo will be added to the manual. The PE kit xos usually are public, but that's because you build your own cabinet and assemble your own crossover. There's a good chance they'll demo them at the Speaker Design Competition (usually in early August).

Iirc they presented these at one of those events, which was a commercial offering

You are correct. There was another post somewhere that suggested it was a kit, I assumed maybe it came with the nice cabinets and the user assembled some of it.
You might be right about that. The last time I visited their physical store, they were selling a completed pair in the display area. That might have just been B stock or something though
These things are probably the most interesting speaker I've ever heard. They completely disappear like nothing else.
The speakers shown in the original post
would sound the same if not better than many other brands priced twice as high.
The higher end drivers and specially the larger dayton silk tweeters give many a good good
run for the money.
Dual passive radiators just means it was done right for low distortion.
and smaller speakers these days really can push bass.
people see low price and bag on Daytons.
When they think brand names with twice the markup
and twice the gimmick actually sound better.
Or the use budget speakers as a reference.
When dayton does build high end drivers,
and yes they cost less than others.
Called competition.
I can buy these and sell them to anybody for twice the price

@WhiteDragon with all due respect you are making a ton of assumptions, we have no idea how these speakers sound. Hopefully Erin will review them on his youtube channel.

Cast frame with gracious amount of linear travel.
As with any 5" or 5.5" that can go so low with bass
they trade off is lower sensitivity.

I don't want to speak for mordikai, but he only said you were making assumptions, which you were. Personally I think they are safe assumptions, but still assumptions. I'd be surprised if the company that designed these drivers went on to implement them poorly in a commercial speaker, but it is possible lol
