Used to have 20' but was stolen and not cheap.A cheap substitute is a length of railroad track, it might do the trick.
I also have tons of RR axles I make anvils from for panel beating.
so nothing to lose here
you can mount speaker drivers in credenza too
perfect WAF

I got some shorter pieces at a yard sale, 12"-24" for a couple bucks each.Used to have 20' but was stolen and not cheap.

Some get lucky. You did!12"-24" for a couple bucks each.
You could buy two 4-pin Noctura fans and the off the shelf controller. I agree 3 pin are easier if your desiging your own contoller from scratch.
I think you can also run more than two fans on one connector if paralleled. I think I'm gonna give it a try. Cheap fun and learning.
The way I run such ( my old credenza and the 'data closet' ) is to have the temp AC controller, then get a 120AC to 5VDC brick... wire the fan to the 5V. You can tweak the temp settiing and use a very quiet, wide and slow fan. At some point, you tune it to where the fan will cycle on and off and will keep the cavity nice at the desired temp.
A good anvil (not chinese) is very hard to come by.
I got a 45 year old wok. Built when the Chinese took their wok building seriously. That sucker is big and heavy.
Use the amp to cook your dinner.
So was someone suggestion a train rail credenza as a more affordable version than full copper? 🤔
In all seriousness, hopefully we don't scare folks away from using a smaller chassis for the F5m such as those listed by Nelson in the article. I think the point of the recent talk of heat sinks is that whatever chassis you use, the thermal power dissapation must be addressed appropriately. There's a lot of options available on how to do that.
It's my understanding that the only way to get a Pass Labs forum member card is to be jested by Zen Mod a bare minimum of two to three dozen times 😉 I'll get there someday. We all gotta start somewhere.

Not this one. It's more like a work of art than a piece of furniture. No defacing of anything visible will happen. I'll sort out a way to put the amp inside and keep it cool with minimal holes .It will work fine.I'm not worried.you can mount speaker drivers in credenza too

The more I listen to the F5m, the more I am astonished at the sound quality for the price. This amp blows away amps that’s cost 5 figures. The clarity is amazing and it can be built with a quality case for under $400.
I’m curious, subjectively, does it sound better than the PS Audio BHK designed amps in your system?
Best,
Anand.

Anand, I haven’t gone there yet but I will soon. The BHKs are really good.
I use noctua, it's 12 volt, I just buy wall warts around 6-7 volts, plenty slow and quiet.I'm using a Noctua 120mm Industrial fan.
Looking for a Speed and Temperature Controller for it.
What are you using?
Try it it works great.Ben Mah:
I'm using the same fan but in 120mm. I can't find anything to control it.
Forced to think of buying a 5V transformer or so and run it all the time as you have.
I have a 12 inch piece somewhere around the house.I got some shorter pieces at a yard sale, 12"-24" for a couple bucks each.
I have a good friend who's driving freight trains all around the Europe
Does that counts?

Yo, Bwana!
How much do you want of it?
I'll st.....I mean, I will buy it and send to Ancient Batsch town of yours! 😎
Class A amplifiers have a constant
power dissipation, independent of signal level.
My understanding of the class A amp is this:
The more you are enjoying it and cranking it up 🎺🙂🎸(higher signal level in and out) the cooler the heatsink gets.
…Since you then are diverting the heavenly sounding class-A- POWER to the speakers instead of just warming the heatsinks.
Right or wrong?
