I’d like to take a moment to share what I’ve observed from this diyaudio community over the past year that I’ve been really active, with the hope of verbalizing what we all mean when we say “thank you”.
If someone were to ask me to describe this group of people on diyaudio.com, I would say, it’s a community built around generosity, sharing, and willingness to help one another. There is no question that these are some of the fundamental values of people on this site. It’s interesting how these values are really contagious and begin to spread and grow. A perfect example is this Alfet “lottery”, which sounded like it was inspired by CodyT (who was probably inspired by someone else), put on by Jugi63 with a single “set” available for a lucky one individual, and then followed up with 60 quads gifted by Papa himself to multiply that generosity so much more. It’s just inspiring to see how generosity spreads. I found myself being more generous with the people I interacted with in my personal life after signing up and following along in this “give away” thread. It really made me a more generous person and want to practice helping others out. Inspiring doesn't seem like ideal word even to describe it.
I just wanted to verbalize how I have observed this community as I have delved into the forums and threads over the past 6-12 months. I made my way to Speaker Camp 2023 and BAF this year for the first time. To see all these people who love music, designing & building complex & technical equipment, and sharing with one another was awe inspiring. There’s so much passion and enjoyment in this, dare I say hobby, and it’s so rewarding to share with others.
I think that generosity, the willingness to share freely, and focus to help others it not something that comes naturally to anyone. These are traits that inspire, require diligent practice, and continued pursuit to perfect. People like Papa, Zen Mod, 6L6, and so many more (apologies for not listing more) are truly spreading the gifts of their knowledge, skills, and true generosity by sharing their time and energy with us on this earth. I just am awe inspired when I think about what likely started as a small gift of generosity many years ago has grown into this wonderful community.

Well said birdbox. Thank you for putting it into words. This is in fact how I see life, happiness and being content - by sharing, giving and loving. Sometimes it's easier, sometimes one needs a bit more 'soul searching'. But you also gain yourself much more.
If one hasn't seen the film 'Pay it forward', I strongly suggest you do - touching and inspiring.
