SemiSouth SJEP120R100A Circuit Question

...We are working on Museum Experience for Innovation Day comparing a drop in Tube replacement using SiC Jfet for guitar Amplifiers. There will be guitar playing demo, guest playing guitar to comparing the sounds of Tube Vs SiC Jfet
I also found Mike to be very nice to deal with.

I would like to know where to get those drop in bases for the SemiSouth pieces I bought years ago. It would be fun to try them in my Magnavox 6V6 amp! ⚡ ⚡⚡

I just received a batch from the last revision of the board from Rainfallsky V1.21. I have four sets to spare if you are interested. They look great. Classic Aleph J schematic but with one pair of output transistors only. I’m building it with the sjep jfet just like you want to do. Pm me if you want a pair, I will sell those at my cost plus shipping.

Hubert

Yeh, the Aleph J with Semisouth thread - the latest Rev2 gerbers are in post #291 and his BOM is in post #360 of that thread in 2021. The schematic is in post #349.

The board shown here above in post #23 might be a later version, seeing it has 2024 silkscreened on it.

I ordered the Aleph J board that Elwood625 suggested from the DIYAUDIO Store. They had them in stock so I got when I ordered the 4U Chassis .

Those octal base unit with the SiC Jfet are probably custom parts. You can always get empty OCTAL PIN from ebay and experiment on your own.

All V1 board is the same schematic, there was just change in the layout. You can see the schematic in my ad, it’s the same aleph J that you will find with the boards from the store minus one pair of outputs. That was the goal of this board.

Hi Everyone!

Here is the latest revision of V1. It's an open project. 🙂

R0 is a jumper. Use neat looking zero Ohm resistor or a wire. But not a bare wire, or at least it need some spacing. That Greek pattern is conductive.

I will add..
R24 on schematic and HBR on the boards is the only place where Power GND is connected with Input GND.
It should be either jumpered for Balanced input or used as Hum Breaking Resistor (10 Ohm) for Unbalanced input.
I should have left it as R24 on the board but hum breaking resistor was on my mind at that moment.
Well V1.22 it would be if you find it important.
🙈

JP on the board should be jumpered for Unbalanced input too. And not jumpered for Balanced input.
I hope it doesn't sound too complicated..
