I need help, I can't get Hornresp to work on my computer, could you help me find a cheap driver to put on a ROAR12?
Something like The box speaker 12-280/8-W would work?

Per here, so any other drivers with similar specs:
B&C 12TBX100 HR
18sound 12LW1400
FaitalPro 12HP1020
FaitalPro 12HP1060
B&C 12TBX100 HR
18sound 12LW1400
FaitalPro 12HP1020
FaitalPro 12HP1060
I’d think very seriously about building a Roar 12. I built one and while it was painfully loud at 80-100hz, the low end extension just want there. If you simulate one using the Paraflex model in Hornsresp, you’ll see it’s not as good a performer as when simulated as a tapped horn.
I did a lot of surgery on mine, changed drivers, looked for any possible mistake I could have made. In the end, I reached the conclusion that the low frequency resonator just isn’t as efficient as the models predict. The high frequency resonator is.
The box got burnt, and I built some MTB manifolds of my own design. A much, much easier build and offered about 6db more at 50hz than the Roar did.
Despite the above, I have considered building another one. As the bottom end of a bass guitar rig, it was insanely punchy. A really impressive sound for that application.

Thanks but I'm looking for something cheaperPer here, so any other drivers with similar specs:

Can you share the plans of your MTB manifolds? I want to build the ROAR12 because I see it as easy since it is the second sub I have made and it is for techno music so punchy bass is what I need. @laxandredeyed
You're welcome! So find cheaper drivers with similar specs! The box doesn't care what the driver costs. Thanks but I'm looking for something cheaper

Lavoce WAF124.01 or WAN124.01Thanks but I'm looking for something cheaper
on the other end of the spectrum ciare 12.00 SW: 1kW aes, 14mm xmax 210 euros. reasonably priced for its specs, less sensitivity..
I wonder if an upstream helmholtz resonator would improve this instead of a damped qw resonator for the ‘front’ section of the roar types?I’d think very seriously about building a Roar 12. the lackluster bottom end performance of roar and paraflex had me perplexed as well. I just assumed it was complicated by the low Qes high motorforce drivers required in those designs with massive cone control to ‘fight’ against ?
those types of drivers already have rising rate responses, and then if the enclosure has another resonator very hot up top or at the others second pipe resonace (paraflex) then it’s even ‘worse ’ I guess?
