Just recently did some calibrating and listening in my living room cinema and then went listening the same track in my NE room for comparison to get a reference. The spaciousness and stage was AMAZING in the reflection free room, stereo width was significant wider as speaker distance cause it was recorded that way. (Sorry, not a lot of natural instruments in that recording and lot's of studio hokuspokus was going on ;-))
This showed me again how much you loose in a normal room and you definitely don't need side reflections for a big stage. It just doesn't get bigger as recorded.
My speakers have lots of space beside them (essentially no first reflections), with nicely rounded over corners since sharp edges tend to mess up imaging, and when Neil Peart does a drum roll it goes
from here ---- left speaker -------------------- right speaker ---- to here.
It's half a Live End-Dead End room, which still wants diffusors in the back.

I remember the first years of Internet with no moderation at forums at all , it worked fine! (old Madisound forum for instance)
What's wrong with people of today?

there were like a hundred people on the old Mad. forum. people are the same the numbers are not.
And it was great while it lasted too.... I was a resident from 1998 through the shutdown. After the reboot was done, I never went back, and it's gone now anyway. Good times those were....

Interesting to see, it looks like the newer model is a lot worse than the old one from 2011;
This is at 90dB
When the right notch is being used, we can get rid of the 6kHz and 12kHz spikes.
I mean it's obviously just a very vintage kind of part, so I wouldn't expect top notch quality to begin with.
But at least something workable.

I posted the best of two measurements of two tweeters 🙂
Paper teeeters…. For what is this a replacement part? I’m no expert on Marantz speakers, but I never got the impression these have contributed to the state of art of hifi. It’s quite a flimsy drop in replacement too, just like the original was. Nostalgia has its funny ways…

Very nice, especially for a little 'un. Many thanks as always, & hope you're keeping safe & well.

There are other cone tweeters that perform better. Read: usable.
I just mostly find the difference between the two measurements interesting.
The measurements of the Scan-Speak D3004/602200 dome tweeter have been added:

This is not what I call usable. It's got what I'd call very high levels of high order distortion that make me automatically disqualify it.Does everything has to be state of the art?

Interesting, despite the price gap, it performs similar to the R2604 8320 aka XT25:The measurements of the Scan-Speak R3004/602200 tweeter:

It has a smaller outer diameter though.
It performs better than the R3004/602000 it's supposed to replace too.
I already said that myself, it's also not what I asked? This is not what I call usable. It's got what I'd call very high levels of high order distortion that make me automatically disqualify it.
I misunderstood your post I thought you were saying this one is useable even if not the best. Apologies.
@HiFiCompass and I have an interesting New Year offering for those who interested: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/hificompass-puribliss-4p25b-kit.407391/ 🙂
Hello friends. Has anyone studied the issue of installing the 3" midrange in depth in order to match the centers of acoustic radiation for a 3-way speaker? These ones has a large dome and I'm afraid that it doesn't have a better place on the flat front panel. And if you drown it inside, you will get an unwanted horn...
