Waveguide Driver combination

If you are good with woodworking/metalworking you could do that part (half the cost is the cabinets and you can go as plain or fancy as you like when you DIY) and there are people in your area who could do the measurements and electronic tuning (equalisation and crossover design) for you.

eg. Paul Spencer is in Victoria.

No affiliation, just a fellow audio nuts of a few decades. I know he’s worked big woofers in 2 ways before, and horns too, particularly modern well behaved ones.

Not sure if @gainphile is doing any custom designs, but he’s also in Victoria.

Joseph Crowe also does custom designs. You might think he has a classic old-would look; but he’s in Canada- plenty of tall trees to cut down and make speakers out of.

I think you will get closer to enjoyment if you follow some plans from some design, rather than doing everything yourself on your first go.

Of course, if you want to embark on a long journey, you can do that too…

I have looked into Joseph Crowe’s site. Very interesting, I plan on contacting him with my thoughts to see what he can offer me.
Thanks for the heads up.

Utilising the Hypex fa123 plate amps which way should I go and why 4ohm or 8ohm drivers for the “best sound“ Given that my listening volUme is around 130 cubic meters? I understand that 4ohm requires more power.
Thanks
