Oh, I'm gorgeous, so I am. It's an effort to move from the mirror -although it's strange how often it's cracked from side to side.Wouldn't double-blind require the speaker to know whether you are pretty/handsome or not?
😂

Now whatever gave you that idea? 😉
My WAF speakers (built in the 90s) uses AUDAX speakers : an HM130G0 (Qts=0.23 / Fs=41Hz / Eff=92dB/W/m) and a TW51A (tweeter) :

If that's your WAF speaker, your wife must be double-blind.
Or he has a wife that actually supports his hobby and joy?If that's your WAF speaker, your wife must be double-blind.
In the early 90s I built a 7" two way using Focal 7C02 midbass. last year I pulled them out to measure with REW to be very pleasantly surprised at both how low distortion was and how well I implemented the crossover using warbler tones and a radioshack SPL meter. One of the best French loudspeaker maker ever - but I'm not sure if they are still in business today :

Many of the founders of French brands of today comes from there : Focal (Jacques Mahul), Triangle (Renaud de Vergnette), Davis (Michel Visan)...

Relax guys , the beauty is in the recording not in your expensive speakers and limited designing capabilities ... check out this one from some OLD WISE MEN :
If this old stuff doesn't suit you try this one but don't grill your speaker coils :

??? In your dreams...certain Fostex full range drivers are superior.
Objective data and measurements don't show this at all.certain Fostex full range drivers are superior.
In fact, I find the average performance from most (not all) Fostex drivers below par. Especially considering the price.
Some have a huge distortion spike around 800-1500Hz because they use such super light cones.
Creating some really nasty problems.

FF85wk, but it benefits from some simple mods.

Than say it that way, instead of saying that "they are superior".That's great. My ears tell me otherwise.
Some people find Bose superior.
Some people find old tube amplifiers with tons of distortion superior.
Doesn't make them objectively superior, which you imply with phrasing it that way.
Very confusing.
I prefer several Fostex drivers over those mentioned in this thread. Within a certain price point, the Visaton B200 is the only competitor to the Fostex drivers of those which I have tested, though it is more fragile, temperamental and inconsistent from unit to unit than the Fostex units. I don't care to share my opinions all that often as they tend to be in opposition to a mentality that I find burdensome and orkish. Arguing with those who are not of my nature is futile and thus to each their own with regards to opinion and preference of speaker drivers.

Fostex drivers are holistically nuanced and refined in a way that none of the other drivers mentioned are. Sustainability correlates to quality as it reflects an awareness that can translate into design and engineering of a thing in positive ways. Considering this as characteristic of Fostex drivers, the rest feel like toys for enthusiasts by virtue of their performance and or plasticine commercial nature and reliance on "tech" and marketing -- neither of which appeal to me according to these ears and eyes. Two different animals.

the Visaton B200
Quite good with phase plugs, really has issues without.
