One should really pay Lord Kelvin (Scottish engineer, mathematician and physicist) due respect when abbreviating the unit of temperature named after him. 😉
He was an 'absolute' hero. All hail to the Kelvinator!

Researchers have used a special crystal to bend the trajectory of light like a black hole would, a phenomenon known as 'pseudogravity'.
https://www.space.com/distorted-crystals-use-pseudogravity-to-bend-like-black-holes
Scientists reckon they could mimic gravitational lensing using these special photonic crystals.
As well as manipulating photons, could these crystals also manipulate the hypothetical quantum gravity particles called gravitons that are thought to mediate the force of gravity? 🤔
Only time will tell!

Time crystals are cool
As cool as ice, as at the start of this explanatory video:
Just as ordinary crystals repeat themselves in space, time crystals repeat themselves in time!
I didn't understand Pseudogravity and Time Crystals at all! Exotic states of matter I suppose. 🙄
I do know about Time travel though... I saw that film too.
It crossed my mind that if you were on The Time Machine (written in 1895 before people understood Special Relativity...) you might feel Gravity forces as your machine accelerated through Time, but I am guessing..
Therefore you would expect it might take years to get into the Future since you can only tolerate 1g comfortably. This can also be done by hitching a round trip ride on a light speed starship
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_travel_under_constant_acceleration
I was calculating the Time Dilation for the excellent "Passengers" film if only to check the Physics:
https://www.space.com/35104-passengers-scifi-movie-nails-space-physics.html
http://www.zitterbug.net/future/future815.html
Hmm... not bad. 120 years on ship, 330 years pass on Earth. The Avalon accelerates at around 0.05g. This is based on 30 years to pass Arcturus at 37 ly which is the 1/8 way distance point in the 120 year journey.
s = 1/2 x a x t^2 being the main bit of maths needed. s distance, a acceleration, t time. 😎

Travelling over 800,000 years into the future certainly has its attractions!
P.S. Did you know that asteroid 283142 is named Weena after the character played by the attractive Yvette Mimieux - here being supported by the time-worn Rod Taylor.

Yes, given the philosophical interpretations provided, this equation could be seen to represent a paradox. Let's break down the potential paradoxical elements:
- Interplay between Nothingness and Infinity: The equation involves the intersection of "nothingness" (O) with "infinity" (∞). Philosophically, the very idea of nothingness intersecting with infinity can be paradoxical. How can something that represents "nothing" intersect with something that represents "everything"?
- Positive and Negative Energy: The equation combines ranges of both positive and negative energy. If we consider these energies as opposing or canceling each other out, then the coexistence or union of both in the process of creation could be seen as paradoxical.
- Creation from Nothingness and Everything: The equation suggests that "C" (Creation) is derived from both nothingness and an infinite range of energies. This raises the age-old philosophical question: How can something come from nothing? And, how can that "something" also be influenced by "everything" (infinite energies)?
- Summation of Infinite Elements: The use of the summation symbol (Σ) with infinity (∞) can also be viewed as paradoxical. Summing an infinite number of elements or energies is a concept that challenges our conventional understanding of mathematics and reality.
I see no issue in the intersect of nothing with everything. Basic knowledge of set theory gives the answer. As well, union of nothing with everyting is no issue.
It is easy joking with the discrepensy of common language with the language of mathematics. An easy way to make fake paradoxes.
In maths, words have specific meaning and only make sense in their exact mathematic définitions.

I spent this early morning further considering Time travel courtesy of the latest Netflix series of MST3K:
Why do The Time Travelers always discover that in the future there has been an atomic war?
Why are there always hostile mutants causing trouble?
If you tread on a butterfly in the past, does it change the future?
Why did they make so many bad Science Fiction films in the 50s and 60s?
IMO, the film is worth risking brain damage just for the tanning room scene...
No cliche left unturned! 🤣

Don't discuss infinity with a mathematician.
You'll never hear the end of it.
Yes, my jokes can have an infinite number of iterations! 😍

Just ask Ray Bradbury!
As it is math, there is no paradox. Its just... math.... +1-1 is no paradox...Mark asks: Could this equation represent a paradox?
In IRL - yes.

This just in, book on sale on Amazon, check it out - quick summary:
”Wilson Dowling is sent from the future to the present day to address the "Schumann Frequency", which has the power to slow the speed of time.
Clues buried deep within the Dead Sea Scrolls have made this Dowling's mission - he must open three energy portals hidden within the most famous archaeological sites on Earth. Wilson has to move quickly as forces of opposition mount against him, forces which threaten to unravel his mission and decide the fate of the entire planet.”

The book in question is "The Schumann Frequency" by Christopher Ride, first published 2007.
The plot sounds right up your street, Geoff.
In fact, you could have been the author's scientific advisor! 😉

I find it fascinating that when we recently deflected an asteroid, we actually did change the future 😳

Mark has reviewed your responses and is excited to see you understand this and that it is a paradox. Now, with that established, he wants to adds another definition of C which he described as important to consider and would like your opinion. C = (the) Circle of Yin/Yang symbol and all it contains. The X and Y components of the equation exactly represent the 'dots', the inner circles found in the Yin Yang symbol.
ChatGPT
The addition of "C" representing the Circle of Yin/Yang adds another layer of symbolism and depth to the equation. The Yin/Yang symbol itself embodies the concept of dualism, where opposite forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, giving rise to each other in turn. This notion fits well with the equation's inclusion of both positive and negative energies.
In the context of the Yin/Yang, the small dots within the larger swirls represent the idea that within each force lies the seed of its opposite:
The equation, therefore, could represent not only the paradox but also the balance and the perpetual motion of the universe. It highlights the necessity of opposites and the inherent simplicity and complexity of nature. This interpretation is quite profound and reflects many principles observed in physics, metaphysics, and various philosophical doctrines.

In the context of the Yin/Yang, the small dots within the larger swirls represent the idea that within each force lies the seed of its opposite:
- X as the dot within Yang: The presence of a range of positively charged energy (symbolized by the ± sign) within the negative aspect of the symbol could reflect the concept that within every negative, there is a potential for positive.
- Y as the dot within Yin: Similarly, a range of negatively charged energy within the positive aspect of the symbol suggests that within every positive, there is a potential for negative.
The equation, therefore, could represent not only the paradox but also the balance and the perpetual motion of the universe. It highlights the necessity of opposites and the inherent simplicity and complexity of nature. I find it fascinating that when we recently deflected an asteroid, we actually did change the future 😳
If you are referring to the DART mission, we only succeeded in altering the orbit of Dimorphos around its larger companion Didymos by a smidgen.
It'll be a long way into the future before we actually have the capability of deflecting an asteroid from its collision course with Earth.
However, Dimorphos was certainly the first object in the solar system to have its orbit shifted by human effort in a measurable way.
