I can see that you have two/three different ground connections to chassis?I do have an issue…when I have a source connected and volume maxed there is some hum. Ground loop, right?
No source connected = no hum
One for the mains and one for each PCB?
I think better to have just one chassis screw and connect using two wires from PCBs to same screw......but not sure that it will cure your hum.
I have no hum in my SE version 🙂

Do the transformers center bolt touch the baseplate? If so, it's possible you have a transformer Shorted Turn.

No, I’ll get those changed out.are those cables, routed to vol pots, coaxial?
I am always impressed by people who can lay out neat wiring and plumbing. Wow.
I’ve been working my SE into a scavenged chassis. I was able to do a quick signal test this morning and it amplifies.

It has the plastic grommet they give you with those covers. No shorted turn there. I have a couple of them myself.@KevinHeem

Just to confirm - measured with no load. I was just hesitant to connect it (to my precious IP board) with measurements that differs so much from the specs. Also hesitant to mention that in my 7 years of diy this is my first time using and connecting a toroid. But all is well so far. Thanks for all the support. Is that measured under load? It's common for transformers to measure higher than the nominal voltage on the bench, with no load.
Naaah. I bet the root cause is a design issuethere is your hum, and it'll go

LOL…yes as with all of ZM’s designs hum is included free of charge as part of basic package.

Many hours later, after some automotive mechanical endeavors, some golf range, some house work…
I got volume, select-o-switch, and one channel all wired up and tested.
SE is alive! Look, knobs!

Next up is wiring other inputs, cutting a hole for the power switch, and rigging switcheroony Christmas lights.
Then putting the cover on.

But knobs, Zen! Knobs!
Even open chassis and pot + output wires, there isn’t a hint of hum or hiss. Kudos.
Will tighten things up. Later. Right now it’s time to listen.

Nice little covers, I will have to get a couple. Thanks 😉It has the plastic grommet they give you with those covers. No shorted turn there. I have a couple of them myself.
