That is an interesting claim. I know that sonar can kill aquatic organisms, but a center channel? The fish will die soon, if heavy bass is played.
Unless they are a hardy breed.
You can place the speakers near or under the place where you normally sit, easier on you and the fish.
And you will good bass, put the woofer under the seat.
Happened to a friend, fish died because of heavy bass passing through wall from next room.
And I have felt strange walking into a disco with deafening loud music, they were big JBL speakers, body thumping loud...for a few minutes yes, but every day for 4 hours will create health issues in humans, we have bone, the fish mostly have much less weight in bone compared to us.
I also will be happy to hear members' experiences of being sublected to loud sound, and their pet animals and fish as well.

I think that calls for a new thread so why not start one? 😎

I haven’t gotten to testing it out, but I got it mounted vertically. Thanks for all the advice and encouragement. I might try to play around with pulling some stuffing and using a very short port, but yeah you’re right it’s probably more like a sealed enclosure.
Yeah the fish might not like the sound right behind and above their tank. It would have been a terrible spot anyways.
One last picture. My SO says it looks like the TV is wearing a hat.

It may not sound better, but I think it would look better placed horizontally.
P.S. Your SO is obviously very accommodating! 😎

The tweeter should always be closest to the screen since the dialog's speech intelligibility is keyed to its sibilance in the ~4-8 kHz BW plus its polar response fans out quickest to use it as a reflective baffle for better focusing, so upside down and ideally flush with the screen in both planes.I do have a little update on the speaker. I finished the build and now am deciding how to mount it. It’s going to be above the TV, but I’m still trying to decide whether I’ll stick with horizontal mounting or vertical. I
Thank you, I’ll try that. I will need to screw the mount to the other side of the speaker since I mounted it towards the bottom. The tweeter should always be closest to the screen since the dialog's speech intelligibility is keyed to its sibilance in the ~4-8 kHz BW plus its polar response fans out quickest to use it as a reflective baffle for better focusing, so upside down and ideally flush with the screen in both planes.
