Better than any cable carpet pad, -decoupling would be to let it hang;-)Have to remember proper supports if you get wooden log cable. Not really from the show.
But for hanging cables can not be asked to pay;-)
I mean, your toilet paper rolls are worth a few thousand dollars;-)
Just wait for the swiss!Yhe Chinese have come , with 3,6million worth of gear
(Besides https://www.soundkaos.com/ or https://www.nagraaudio.com/de/ that is)

But I am Swiss! Well half Swiss that is 😉Just wait for the swiss!
What was the point of that room? The horns are so far apart, you’d have to sit 10m or whatever from them for the sound to integrate. And did they really need all that gear on the shelves to drive them?Yhe Chinese have come , with 3,6million worth of gear
Well, yes, we did have to sit 10 meters away from it.What was the point of that room
The System was installed in a 160sqm(ish) and with prices being 20% higher this year, I cannot imagine the effort and money invested in bringing such a system 😳
What does it contribute? I had the image of army parading it's biggest nuclear to show power and domination, it's just a bit like that, only with audio. Biggus Dickus!
)-;
No coherence despite 10 meters listening distance. They don't sound that big. These things are too far apart.
A bunch of devices also means a bunch of power supplies and circuits and contacts and so on. Every single one of those just mentioned modulates the signal away from the original: a sound disaster;-)-;

Aren’t such long and narrow horn mouths guaranteed to produce honky sound?
I do wonder with many of the speakers shown above who would actually buy them. They are mostly large and ugly, and very expensive. Who with a six-figure audio budget would put them in their living/audio room? Will they really not care about the conclusions their non-audio friends will draw when they see these monsters, especially if the sonic advantages are not obvious to their untrained ears?

I wonder the same each year. The market of high end audio is tiny compared with other luxury industries... automobiles, yachts, fashion.I do wonder with many of the speakers shown above who would actually buy them
Where are the buyers of such speakers, electronics and cables?
Thanks for the comment. I had high expectations of the Iconics myself.Best of show (and I'm not kidding at all!) Is going to the 80+ years old Altec. The host was a kind south korean who brings this magic every year on his expense. He was only slightly high (on beer) and challenged loudly every one to bring their super modern speakers and see if they better this grandpa of a speaker. I must say that he does have a point.
One of genius products of J.B. Lansing. The grandfather of the (modern) large format 2 way (monitor) systems.
4 days have past since the audio show and I'm still pondering, how on earth the Altec lansing speaker (97years old) has surpassed everything I've heard, conveying a full blown piano infront of me.
If you think about it, it's like bringing a 90 year old Ford model T to a car show and it's over- taking a Bugatti Chiron at 400kmh 🙂 crazy!
I have posted this video before but here it is again

Utterly cool, like a piece of art.
Unfortunately, my wife and daughter don’t agree…

So which speaker are you raving on about? The one on the left?
Naaa, too small. The big one. the one that looks like it has been built on a Pirate ship and is about to fall apartwhich speaker are you raving on about
ok, that one would deserve an AB with that Magico horn. But does the “Victrola” not have problems with resonances or honking?
No honking, no resonance problems. If any problems then soundstage was not quite dialed in.does the “Victrola” not have problems with resonances or honking?
The Korean guy said that it's all about speed and thus, modern membrane good as they are, are still in comparison sluggish and slow.
I can relate to that, The compression drivers on my TL2 are effortless and dynamic as well, I still haven't heard a modern dome tweeter to compete with it.
Now beg the question, how do you downscale this system, without bending the laws of physics and or spend thousands on GIP drivers.
All those system that exceld at producing timbers and presence of instruments where to some degree Horns. Cessaro, Tune audio, Acapella... would be awsome to try and design a smaller version of the Tune audio room....
