Ok, so now that Transcendar and Electra-print are gone what are our alternatives? I’ve had ok units from Edcor, really good units from Hayboer. Surprisingly good units from HiFi Equis out of China. Who else is still in the game?
The second-hand market and patience are currently the best in my opinion

NP Acoustic in Vietnam. I have a 3.5K SE amorphous OPT I like a lot plus some amorphous plate chokes.
Very nice guy does the winding. Decent prices.

Primary Windings in UK are making transformer, some guys here have used them with decent results:

OEP (UK) is a weird one, I see their transformers from time to time, but can't find a website where they show all of them.
And of course Hammond, my experience with them (1650HA and 1628SEA) have been excellent.

I know little about tube amplifiers. However, I was looking for a power transformer for another project and came across these:

Monolith, of course, expensive but good, in Europe.
There's a guy on the forum who winds as well - in Bulgaria I think.

I've had good results using Primary Winding OPT's on several of my amp build's, OPT's are about £70 - £100 each which is good value for those of us who haven't a lot of cash to spend. I've had a close look at his work, they are well constructed, with, I think good interleaving, reasonably stacked laminations & are varnish impregnated. They have a decent primary inductance & high frequency response. There's about a two week lead time. Be careful when ordering to fill in the ordering form with what you want, EG 8r or 4,6.16 secondary's etc.
Hope that helps those shopping for OPT's, here in the UK our options have narrowed cost wise due to us leaving the EU, Andy.

For others in the UK, also be aware of nice toroids with 230v secondaries for using as mains transformers, from Airlink. Cheap prices and very handy. I use them for preamps, and they do larger ones as well.

Welter appears to be extinct, even though Google throws some - invalid - URL's. Years after Gerd Reinhoefer's death, www.roehrentechnik.de, the company he founded, doesn't show any stock output transformers anymore. BTB Elektronik sells Hammond transformers. In Germany: Audioroehrentechnik, Ask Jan First, Welter-Electronic
Best regards!
Welter may have thrown in the towel, but Audioröhrentechnik seems to be very much alive. The website shows lots of transformers and chokes of all kinds. The only drawback is that they don’t accept orders for custom transformers at present. As is explained on the ”Katalog” page no prices are shown as they have to be calculated on a daily basis due to the difficult times we are going through. Worth noting is also that Audioröhrentechnik manufactures tube sockets for a number of tubes that are difficult to source sockets for.
