Something to lighten the mood

I knew I could find this topic on youtube...

Very artistic, IMO. Dance. Suppleness. Coordination. Balance.

The next one is sheer showoff. Unbelievable! This could be an olympic sport:

Well it is actually. It is within Rhythmic Gymnastics with a single hoop.

With my rotten and damaged back, I don't know if I am up to this. But cheap entertainment, for sure.

We had a joke about Pterodactyls earlier. I know another one...

Did you know that Pterodactyls only have three fingers?

Which is why you never see a Pterodactyl play guitar!

Cue gratuitous pictures of colourful small Pteroasaurs:

There was one, called Monkeydactyl by the press, which could fly, climb trees, run on all fours and developed opposable thumbs for climbing before any other reptile:

Alas, I fear it was probably a worse guitarist than even Pterodactyls.

My Norwegian is pretty rubbish, but I guess VG is Verdens Gang, which might mean "World's Goings On" or something... but the joke was lost on me.

What is a baby Deer called?

A Darling, of course. 😀

I was interested in this seemingly obscure bit of genetic research on Antlers in Deer.

Seems like Deer that have a high protein diet around 16% grow huge and have big antlers. This is something the Does look for in choosing a partner. Deer in a poorer region and getting around 8% protein develop into smaller type which is a good adaptation.

The surprise was that the smaller ones, when put on a better diet develop into bigger ones not in the first generation of offspring, but the second one. Somehow the better diet triggers a dormant size gene.

So Darwin missed a trick here. I remember a friend telling me that your hairline takes after your maternal Grandfather. My maternal Grandfatther was bald as a badger. My hair is getting thin too. 🙁
