2.5 kHz quality price tweeter?

Which tw will you match with a pair of SB16PFC25-8 midwoofer? xover cross about 2300/2500hz 18db/oct

i'm uncertain on these drivers. On vituixcad them have good response, with a no complex xover.

1. Seas 22TFF
2. SB29RDNC / SB29RDC
3. ScanSpeak R2604/83300 (nice fr but i don't like off-axis response, maybe on monitor system can be fitted better)
4. Seas 27TFFC

as you can see i need about 93/94 db's 2.83v due to pair of midwoofer 8ohm ..
i don't ear any of these anymore, on datasheet they are good but i wish to ask you better advice.
Thanks

SbSB26STCN is small and good for MTM driver spacing, plus it has enough SPL/2.83V. Some say it has higher than average THD down low, but thats only according to specs. Ive run it at 2200hz 2nd order and it sounds clean, moreso than some others which measure better on paper.

I'm choosing the driver based on the manufacturer's data (fs, thd, fr), to be in line with midwoofers. the baffle reflaction issue will be addressed when I take the measurements and deal with the crossover. As I will roughly be crossing at 2.5khz (more or less).

Yes, i'd used that, to have flat response i need to stay at 92/93 db..
the SB26STCN have good polar response and im still evaluate it.. you're right about fatiguing sounding on higer highfreq db's..

im sharing response with 2x Sb16 midwoofer and 1x SB26STCN , cross about 2500hz with driver simulated in baffle diffraction (first pic)

and results with SB29RDC (ferrite version, very close to neodynium version)

(baffle is 280mm x 1200mm, are high tower)

The SB26STCN is probably one of the best compact tweeters sound wise for its price. I tried alot of smaller tweeters and it was the only one under 50 bucks I thought sounded natural and effortless playing loud. Problem with most of these little tweeters is they have a high Qts which makes them sound rough pushed lower. The 2 to 3k area is very touchy in our hearing. It can pick up more tiny abnormalities in this range than you think. You don't want to be higher than around 0.5 percent odd order HD at 90dB.

because of the baffle step do you really need 93/94 db tweeters ? You are risking a brigth fatiguing sounding loudspeaker ! have you used the baffle step compensation of VituixCad in your simulation ?
If the sensitivity is too high, he can just pad it down. I was thinking more about his options. The list of tweeters with a sensitivity of 94db is a lot less than those with 89db. So he may be missing out on a lot of nice options IF he sets his target sensitivity much higher than it needs to be.

looking at 22tff thd response... i guess its the winner. very surprised thd value wont change drastic at power increase...
A lot of review and test of this driver claim it as "fantastic over 2500"... and simulate it on vituixcad have really nice response and minimum phase.
im closing circle.. most probable i will get it for my setup

for the center to center, the x 1.2 wave length center to center at the Xo frequency between the tweeter and the mid unit(s) is giving good results according Kimmo the VituixCad brain. Gives you some more margin !

The SB26STCN if enough sensivity is a good unit as said profiguy. I was to talkk about Wave guided SB26STAC or ADC (aluminium) but the sensivity should be too much low. The SB29RDC seems the best plan of your list, though with the planned cut-off.

Just 2 cents and btw why not the Morel advised ? some people use it without the ferro fluid in it and it is even more musical I was said.

The Monacor DN25 is a very cheapy good unit maybe as good or even better than the SB Acoustics >= 3 K hz (steep slope with all those units with high Fs)

Morel its more expensive than listed drivers, and i don't like waveguide, i leave them for PA audio, my personal opinion.

The 22TFF fs is a bit high for about 2300khz 18db hpf.... anyway.. .SB16 can work until 3/3,5khz , maybe some small correction on xover can match them better..
so.. i figure out that 22tff can be slope without big issue at 2.5khz ...

about sb29rdc... still really need 29mm dome ring? does it really best choice or better polar response of Seas dome?

3 mm more... maybe could make the soundstage nearer (remember that of what said HifiCompas about bigger size of tweeter) ?! I do not see why a 1" could not work if you find one with the sensivity you need (2.5 k hz).

I have no filter savoir faire, but seeing at the sim, could you not flatering the spl at 90 dB to make it flater since 100 hz ? Are you sure you room will compensate the deep below 200/300 hz ? Most of room placement at the opposite makes dips between 1k to 2k hz...
