I've listened to recordings on the CHR-120 and they actually sound good in the treble. I am suprised. That should be consistent with the low distortion. Thanks for the good info.
Definitely try it with my suggested schematic. Personally I was not able to enjoy the driver without the circuit in place. The sound is much more balanced and allows listening on-axis. Listening even just 15 degrees off-axis causes 10kHz and above to fall off quickly, losing critical spatial information.

For me it is a bit strong way up.
And the ringing down could get irritating over time.
But for music without cymbals, it may not be a problem.
