Can the Lundahl OPT LL1688 (specs: https://www.lundahltransformers.com/wp-content/uploads/datasheets/1688.pdf) be used instead of the stock OPTs on the SunValley SV-S1628D - the 211/845 amp?. It is listed as 5.5 kohm and 'designed for 845 tube'. I use Lundahl OPTs in my elekits purchased from Victor (and love them) and these Lundahls are less expensive than the Hashimoto and ISO variants listed above.

AS I said FC40.5 is double the price. You need to consider the shipping from Japan too.

As long as the low JPY, I will shift all upgrade opt to Hashimoto or ISO.

For amplifiers with transformer-driven circuits and outputs of 30W or more, the H40-10S would be the preferred choice

I will be interested in SV1628 with Hashimoto when it is available. What is approximate replacement cost of the 845 tubes you recommend?
Just approximate cost of replacement tubes, that’s what I’m asking. I need to know if this amp is expensive to service, like a 300b amps?

Generally speaking a pair of regular 845 or 211s will costs ~ 350+ including shipping. Decent ones will cost 450++ a pair not including shipping. The days of cheap 845s are long gone.
Normal linlai 300Bs are ~ 300 a pair. The comparable 845 or 211 of similar quality will be roughly 15 to 20% more. The NOS 845 or mil-spec 211s are mostly collector prices ie multiple $k. and best to buy from sellers who have 1000+V curve tracing equipment. Nice modern 845s are around 800 to 2000 a pair
