I was looking into buying a couple of transformers and went to their site and it was gone. Are they out of business?
I was just at his Ebay store - he's selling his paintings, some silver wire transformers, and some EL84 amps that look too expensive for what they are...
I bought a pair of Interstage transformers from Jack just last month, I hope he's okay. The domain isn't even ping-able no DNS no IP but the domain is still registered but it appears no longer has a web server. Here is the email I've always used to correspond with Jack and to pay with PayPal.

Unfortunately, I confirmed by email with Jack that he has indeed closed down the business due to various economic pressures.
Dang. Built his 6A3 A2 monoblock design using his iron. Also built a pair of volume controls using his audio transformers.
Jack was always very helpful. He will be missed.

Unfortunately, Jack stopped making transformers sometime ago because the material cost went up too much to keep the end-user's price reasonable.

Not like transformers were ever a cheap item to begin with.
I had a hunch this would happen, which is why I ordered some SE OPT and chokes from him last year. I talked to him a few months back about some custom work for another possible project but the correspondence stalled and the order was never placed.
In October he made me a pair of interstage transformers, he said he was going in for medical tests that week so he'd make them right away, they came in a week varnish still fresh. I hope he's ok. Everything costs more, in the scheme of things $300-$500 for a pair of lifetime transformers is reasonable. Every Sunday me, my wife and son go out for breakfast, it is now $60 a pop for that one meal not counting the tip, and I'm a big, big, tipper. The breakfast is digested in hours, the transformers are for a lifetime and then some. Inflation is rampant. $300+ a month for breakfasts out to see my son, thats transformer cost territory.

Jack is retiring. I have a 24 W/pc 300B Modwright Push Pull Integrated with Electraprint Transformer’s. Jacks work will be sorely missed.
I purchased a pair of OPT's, I guess from his remaining stock, last December. Still lightning fast turnaround, still the lovely smell of just-dried varnish. In October he made me a pair of interstage transformers, he said he was going in for medical tests that week so he'd make them right away, they came in a week varnish still fresh.
Do you happen to have the schematic for this that you'd be willing to share? Thanks.Dang. Built his 6A3 A2 monoblock design using his iron. Also built a pair of volume controls using his audio transformers.

Found this in the wayback machine archives. Please remember that the design is not for commercial use even thought it's on his old webpage. Newer chips could be used. I found that the chip circuit as designed oscillated. Caught a lot of flack over building the design, but I though it sounded very good on my speakers. I don't have the specs for the IT or the OT. Very high voltage. Be safe. HeyBill

I heard that his material prices got way out of hand to the point it was no longer feasible to run a business. Don’t worry, the government says there is no inflation! It’s a huge loss to the community to have one less good transformer

I picked up a pair of his push-pull center-tapped interstage autoformers from a sale he had on Ebay. I may think of building his 6BX7 amp.
That may also be true. But Jack didn't do himself any favours by being enormously crusty to deal with. He turned away several of my customers because they requested a transformer for the Neurochrome DG300B and not a transformer following his specs or ideals. I know George of Tubelab had a similar experience.I heard that his material prices got way out of hand to the point it was no longer feasible to run a business.
For the longest time his website said that he was interested in selling his business. Maybe he failed and decided to retire instead.
