Its my basement, so 1000sq ft, but that section is 14ft wide and has no wall behind the listener. The Ultra Mazanita's and this 50w per channel BA-3 will get plenty loud here (so loud my GF won't even come downstairs LOL!), but being OB, I have no trouble finding the limit of the speaker either.
your speakers look different... the ones on the Internet are two way.
When I built mine I attempted to use some old Vifa XT25 tweeters to make a three way as I saw someone else do, but my tweeters were damaged from the previous owner so I reverted back to the published two-way Ultra plans. Maybe one day I’ll make new baffles. To my ears these speakers hardly need tweeters anyway, those Vifa TC9s sound really great as far up as my hearing goes. Yes, more of a bottom up darker sound as designed.

How about a ribbon?
-Sorry if I hijacked thread... was this discussed elsewhere? I might need higher efficiency speakers if I go with a BA3 preamp and F4.
Sure about that? What speakers? How about a ribbon?

For comparison I was afraid my Alpair 12Ps (92db sens) would have my F2J (5 watts) clipping. Turns out I only use about 1-1,5 watts before it gets too loud for comfort.
I used a BA-3 poweramp /BA-2 OS (your plan only inside one and the same poweramp) with Fyne F502’s, and it worked pretty well. But the impedance swings of those speakers had the amp on a limb, so I went FR after a while.

My main speakers are Maggies. Cruel loads.
Ouch!!My main speakers are Maggies. Cruel loads.

Considered BBA-3?
I’d stay clear of the F5T. You’d probably need it with the diodes, capable of imminent explosion 😎

I have an F5... non starter with my Maggies (1.7 and 12).
I've been considering an existing F5 Turbo V3, but I took a detour to A2's. I know that the F5TV3 can drive Maggies -at least this one amp, as built, can.
I guess my goal is to take First Watt to First Hundred Watts. There have been some conversations about going further. Bigger Maggies need 400 watts.

BBA-3 will take you a long way towards that goal, and give you the rest in class A/B. With a huge chassis, 6 deep and with cascoded front end and highish rails you may find yourself a happy camper.I have an F5... non starter with my Maggies (1.7 and 12).

But yes, a real challenge! Looking forward to hearing and seeing how it goes

Next year's project.
But the real project will be if the guy sells me his F5T V3 and gets that quad chassis A1 built. The putative builder has already made some queries about this.... in these forums. Cooling that beast might be problematic.
Myself, I'll be happy with 100/200 watts. I don't think I can afford the electric bill of running monophonic 400 watt Aleph.
2023 might be an interesting year.

I also tried the BA3 "6 deep" and found that it was close to the standard "3 deep" version, I couldn't honestly say that I heard significant improvement in the bass control, because that was my focus, not so much the sound pressure.
Should I try a F5TV3 or something else?
Beautiful builds!!!I have the same Maggies...

Have you considered going balanced? (BBA-3)?
The feedback in the F5T may help with better bass control. An F5Tv3 with say +/45-ish rails should get you in the 100W into 8 ohm range.
As long as the current requirement isn't too high, I would consider dropping the diodes.

Isn’t that a bit like John Holmes without the main attraction?I would consider dropping the diodes.

(1) As a kid I wanted to be a porno star... imagine all the chicks... unfortunately I came up short in that endeavor (kaching!) so I settled for physics.
(2) Aren't those builds, beautiful as they are, pushing the concept of stereo amps? Why not make them monoblocks? That's one very packed amp.. a 5U, huh?
(3) Maybe I should be happy with the A2s, not push the envelope, get the SiT built and get some more efficient speakers.
(4) Perhaps Nelson is right about the First Watt. But, dang it, 100 watts into a Maggie is addictive. 200 watts even more.
I have the same Maggies...

Try the A2s first. You won't believe it... it sounds like an additional octave in the bottom. With Maggies, the First Watt just warms up the binding posts, my A5s ( actually I guess they are 60s since they are monoblocks and got rebuilt ) just gets them moving nicely but very politely. The A2 really brings them up to life.
The F5TV3 was my other choice at the time but I decided to go A2 first.
Now, I see other options, I still might buy the F5TV3s if we can arrange the deal. But, but, but...
bottom line, I need a bigger house.

Papa likes the Aleph 2:

Yes, I have read all of that... but that was a long time ago. For all we know he's a closet Purifi fanatic now. Driving 5000 watts into an array of EMIMs and EMITs with a system efficiency of 82 db per watt.
I wonder if Nelson ever met Arnie Nudell.... North meets South.
