M = 20%Maybe I do not know...
M serie with M logo!
I'm not because the footprint of SMD electrolytics is larger than through-hole ones.I am still surprised there is more selection in tht vs smt to this day
Ok but most of the time with caps the capacitance precision is between () : (M) ; (J) ; etcM = 20%
And in the picture shown if the M logo in the square is Matshushita plant, that Panasonic has its raw M in the line where Panasonic writes the serie model: FC, FR, etc.
But who knows...it is not really of any interest...at least for me.
my rega dac have on psu ,quite good may be his amp tooHi,
Anyone has experience with Nichicon LS ? (Reservoir cap in power amp)
Are Samwha brand good enough ? I know Hypex or Chord amp used them in some area of their SMPS ? Any thougths ? Rubycon better suited ?
what others did you compare them to and what uF and VDC were they? I'm interested in your observations. UFG get the nod from many I have noticed.I've always liked the sound signature of the Nichicon Muse & Fine Gold
Where I can order this electrolytic caps:Never heard Sikorel caps so couldn`t say. When you say they are not made anymore are you referring to BHC or Sikorel?
I`m not sure if BHC make the slit foils anymore but Supertech do.

show the BHC versions.
Honestly guys, if you can hear the cap - it's bad. Any good quality capacitor from a good manufacturer will be great as a filter capacitor.
As far as coupling caps go, they are invisible to the signal if sized properly. Just use an appropriate, good quality capacitor, that's all. You probably do more damage replacing parts where they don't make any difference. Most people damage the rubber eals in the bottom of the cap - so you would be further ahead leaving the old ones in place.

Those Supertech caps that you're looking for (4TTN and 2TN) are available direct from "DNM Design" in the UK (www.dnm.co.uk) - I think there's a distributor for these in Germany (reson audio gmbh) - you can get them from the Hifi Collective in the UK too but not cheap. They were originally made by BHC for Denis Morecroft of DMN Design but now by Supertech in Taiwan - excellent devices.

My life would be so much more simple if that was true. Although I can say a number of caps have certain poor properties and it can be heard - and depending on application they may be the equivalent of damaged.
is simple distortion..My life would be so much more simple if that was true. Although I can say a number of caps have certain poor properties and it can be heard - and depending on application they may be the equivalent of damaged.
Let's hope there will be a Silmic III
Yeah... right... wishful thinking
I saw this the other day, buying some Silmic II to decouple Analog +/- pins of a PCM63 design I am working on. Time to buy them in the hundreds and hope I can sell them for 100x original price in 10 years? 🤔
He said, sheepishly.I was really surprised and happy with the Elna silk caps -- tested them out on my AP and the distortion was really de minimus. Happy and surprissed because they really deliver a lot of value per money.
I haven't been able to tell the difference between Mills, Riken's and the Caddocks -- my baaaaaad ears, I guess.

so if they sound bad, just bin them, this simple..
