It absolutely is of you do it right. I have open baffles and I do like dub-reggae a lot and it sounds big, bold, powerfull, with very deep low-end extension. It Just takes lots of moving area and powerfull well controlled woofers. I am using twin 15 inch in a w-frame for low bass plus 15 inch bass-mid. Most People Who have heard this systeem are mostly suprised by the sheer impact and definition of the bass. No, a single 15 inch woofer on a minimal baffle does't cut it of that is what you are referring to.Ob would be cheaper to manufacture due to fewer materials and cheaper to ship for obvious reasons.
If those manufacturers thought their customers might buy, they'd be on that like white on rice.
No conspiracy necessary.
I know what I tend to like and it historically hasn't been open baffle.
Reggae is not compatable with open baffle... Some music is, but not Reggae.
Love my DSP'ed DIY OB's, they've stood up to a lot of challengers. But if I was buying a speaker? Probably wouldn't be OB...
Steinway lyngdorf has several commercial dipoles in their lineup.
On a recent trip to Hamburg, Germany I had the chance to audition the model B.

Kinda ugly. nd that “bass” horn will be a poorish TL, not big enuff to be a horn st LF.

You wouldn't even want a used 'iconic' OB? Please elucidate on why not?But if I was buying a speaker? Probably wouldn't be OB...
You don’t have a wife, do you?Who cares if speakers are ugly.

- Will these Audiophile Speaker brands EVER introduce open baffle models? And if you think no, why?
