I do know in the past the Canadian Government would provide assistance to help Canadian manufacturers do business on the international level.
In the 90's I attended many electronic industry trade shows here in the US, and noticed there was usually a "Canadian section" on the floor. Turns out the government would rent a dozen or so booths to allow Canadian manufacturers to exhibit at no cost, and I do remember talking with the guys from Hammond a few times. Not sure if this program still exists but it did seem to be uniquely Canadian, at least in that industry.

I just love that Hammond post 3d models of their enclosures so that I can 3d print them during the prototyping stage.
RSC - I remember them. They seemed to have really nice cabinets and mediocre drivers.I take it that RSC (Radio Speakers of Canada) is gone? Any good alternatives? What was the name of that distributor in Ontario that I used to order from? Remember the Canadian mag ~"Elector"?
Good electronics are still made here (inside Canada's borders) for many purposes including audio, and complete plug and play audio, amps, speakers and everything in between, all of the usual. For diy too if that's your choice of poison. It might just take a little extra effort to find certain items sometimes. And cost more or less greater. If your in it for the long haul (and fuller enjoyment) of the hobby. In the end its totally worth doing. Buying loyally local and responsibly.
I have the PSB ALPHASeries T20 ... I like themNice little bit of nostalgia here, particularly the NRC & Lenbrook connections.
I worked for Optech when it was just a little family business. Now Optech is a part of Teledyne.
