Wow that was fast!

I have a pair if SRM12B that I bought to experiment with

Just curious, I thought the Manley crossovers were designed for 10b and their special studio enclosure…I know a lot of people mix and match the Tannoy drivers/crossovers depending on enclosures and etc

What was your enclosure/crossover recipe based on?

Hi, I have also some many tannoys on my hands in last 30 years. From silver to red to gold to hpd(the worst tannoy drivers if you ask me) than 3828,3839 and so on. For this 3169g I have made no experiments, I just send to Manley the correct driver typ and they send me the crossovers and they sound great. Much better than original from 12x.

Can I ask you why you think so !!!

thank you so much for these tips. my build is slowly coming together. how big did you make the speaker hole? i cut to the srm12x specifications and it is too small ! and i cannot find information online about what the mounting size is for the 3169g drivers

hiya, thank you for the reply. I meant to ask for the size of the hole you cut for the speaker driver- from the plan i have it said the diameter was 271mm but this is too small. so the big hole in which the speaker is placed.

thank you for your time!

thank you so much. i’ve finished building the cabinet myself now! one problem i have is mounting the driver. did you use nut inserts in the wood? should they go all the way through the wood. i’ve seen different kinds of nut inserts (the ones i used originally seem too shallow to be safe). any further help is much appreciated. it’s sounding good though !!

Hi,yes this was the little red diy enclisure, but than I put the drivers if you have see in 160L also BR and thr sound was much, much better. The speakers have much more deep and precise bass section and also much better soundig by vocals and instruments becose it more bodie in vocals and instruments. And this bigger enclosure I just used standard wood screws.😉
